They’ve been feuding since last year when Coleen Rooney accused Rebekah Vardy of selling stories about her to a tabloid newspaper and now the WAGatha Christie scandal has taken a new turn after Rebekah filed a defamation lawsuit against the mum of four.
Following reports she was seeking a public apology from her fellow WAG, Rebekah’s issued court proceedings by lodging a claim that she was libelled or slandered by Coleen. The pair now face a High Court battle to resolve their dispute.
Coleen has responded to Rebekah in a statement released by her lawyer saying she was saddened that the former I’m A Celeb star chose to take legal action.
The statement read, “It is disappointing that Mrs Vardy has chosen to issue court proceedings.
“Coleen feels that the time and money involved could be put to better use; her offer to meet face to face still stands.
“Mrs Vardy’s decision to issue court proceedings does at least mean that Coleen’s evidence can be made public when the time is right.”

Rebekah will have to detail why she believes her reputation has been damaged by Coleen’s now infamous social media statement in the court battle, which it’s thought could cost both WAGs £500,000 in legal fees.
But, according to a source close to her, Rebekah is determined to clear her name no matter the cost.
“It’s not about money. As far as Becky is concerned, she wants her costs and vindication,” they told The Sun. “But since Coleen still refuses to agree to an apology, she’s gone ahead with filing the paperwork at the High Court.”

Rebekah previously discussed the aftermath of her fallout with Coleen in a tearful appearance on Loose Women.
“It was really, really hard,” she told the panel show. “It is probably up there with one of the worst things that I have had to deal with apart from being abused when I was younger.”
She added, “The trolling was the worst part for me. I have been trolled before and I do get it all the time, but it escalated off the back of this. I ended up with severe anxiety attacks. I ended up in hospital three times. I ended up with kidney stones.”
