Emily Atack is engaged! The actress shared the happy news on Instagram with a selfie of her and fiancé Alistair Garner. She flashed her diamond ring, adding the rather chilled caption, ‘It’s Friday, I’m in love.’
And it sounds like the big day will be more of those relaxed vibes, as a source tells heat that Emily, 35, doesn’t want the wedding to ‘feel stifled or too traditional’.
They explain, ‘It’s no secret that Emily likes to party and have fun, but so does Al, and everyone is fully expecting this to be a boozy and raucous wedding. She’s told pals she’d be happy with a big knees-up in a pub or a working men’s club. She doesn’t want anything too grand, but she’ll need space for her family, as everyone wants to come and will be raring to go.’
Emily and Alistair, 38, have known each other since childhood, as he’s the stepson of Emily’s aunt. They were first linked romantically in September 2023, before they welcomed their son Barney in June last year.
The adorable baby is set to play a part in their wedding. We’re told, ‘Emily’s wondering if they could do something fun like dress him up as a page boy or a little suit to be a mini grooms-man.’
Emily – who has previously been linked to Harry Styles, Dougie Poynter and Giovanni Pernice – is said to be compiling a star-studded guestlist. Our source says, ‘She’ll be inviting friends like Laura Whitmore and Leigh Francis. She’s already told family and friends to clear their schedules for a wedding because she doesn’t want to wait. She doesn’t want to spend an endless amount of time planning it and would rather they be spontaneous.
‘Emily cannot wait to marry Al. She’s not feeling the pressure for it to be perfect, it’s just going to be a massive celebration and party with her loved ones.’
