During a recent episode of Call Her Daddy, Emma opened about a past relationship and her sexuality.
She admitted, "I struggled with my sexual identity growing up because I was a late bloomer and I wasn't an ultra feminine girl. I've never been super stereotypical feminine woman. But yet, I am a straight woman. But I've always gotten shit for that growing up, people being like 'that's not true'.
"Sexuality is such a tough, intimate and emotion filled subject that I don't want to complain about people questioning my sexuality because I know it can be so much worse and complex...
"But at the time I remember one of my ex-boyfriend's friends was like 'dude, she doesn't actually like you. I think she likes girls'.
"And then he came to me and told me that and I was like 'why the f--k would you say that? Why are you assuming? Because that's not true'.
"Even if it was true so f--king be it. Why are people speculating?"
She went on to reveal that her ex-boyfriend's pal made that assumption because she didn't wear make-up and she wore sweatpants a lot.
Has Emma Chamberlain quit YouTube?
Judging by her interview on the Call Her Daddy podcast, it appears that she quit YouTube after four years.
When she was asked by the host Alex Cooper how she's trying to redefine her identity following social anxiety, she admitted, "A big step was deciding that I'm going to probably step back from YouTube."
Emma then went on to say, "I'm not making anything definite, it's where I'm at I take it day by day.
"By stepping back from YouTube I have a lot more free time, so that I can figure out maybe I want to do something else that's creative, that I can create for the world to hopefully enjoy.
"It gives me room to explore what I can do next in my career but also it gives me more time to develop friendships properly..."
The 20 year old added, "So I'm taking this time feel like there might be something out there that might excite me career wise and might light my soul on fire.
"There's something out there that I might be missing, so I want to have a little bit of time to explore that and see what I want to do next that's going to excite me."
However as of June 2022, she's returned to YouTube.
