She’s kept her dating life on the backburner for almost three years, focusing instead on nailing life as a single mum to daughter Sunday and furthering her reality TV career. But these days, Ferne McCann’s all loved up, thanks to her four-month relationship with city trader Albie Gibbs, and she’s now ready to focus on what she really wants in life...namely, having more babies. And, according to insiders, she doesn't want to wait too long.

“Ferne absolutely loves being a mum and is desperate for another baby,” says a source close to the 29 year old, who’s been dating Albie since the end of last year (although he prefers to stay away from the cameras). “She’s finally happy after finding love again, and she’s now got enough money in the bank to really focus on being a mum and not have to take every job that comes her way, although she would still love to do with TV show to show her fans the new stage in her life. It’s still early days with Albie, but she doesn’t want there to be a big age gap between Sunday and the new baby. She sees all her friends with big families and she wants that too.”

Until now, Ferne’s had a famously troubled love life. In April 2017, when she was in the early stages of pregnancy, she broke up with Sunday’s father Arthur Collins, after he was arrested, and subsequently imprisoned for 20 years, for an acid attack in a London nightclub. The experience clearly left its mark on the star – something she recently revealed on the podcast Happy Mum Happy Baby, when she said that she’d been “robbed” of her “ideal pregnancy” in the aftermath. But since falling for Albie, she’s allowed herself to start making bigger plans for the future, embrace the idea of increasing her little family, and having that dream pregnancy she’s always desired.

Last week, while appearing on an episode of The Mummy Diaries, Ferne told her bestie Billie Faiers, “It would be nice to get pregnant in about a year-and-a-half. Sunday would be four and a bit by the time I had a second baby, and to me, that just seems like a dream.” This comes after she previously said in an interview, “I would love to meet The One and grow my family in a partnership.”

It’s certainly good timing for the star to start focusing on her family; having recently wrapped filming the next series of her reality show First-Time Mum, she’s got some spare time on her hands – especially now that the C word has scarpered everyone’s plans. Sure, she’s said she’ll wait a year or so, but with coronavirus reportedly promising a “baby boom”, who knows what Ferne will be announcing in the not-too-distant future.
