Gemma Collins has opened up about her reasons for going on Dancing On Ice, after being booted off the show during last night's episode (10th Feb). The GC, who was partnered with Matt Evers on the show, made it through to Week 6 before it was her time to go.
Despite having been on almost EVERY single British reality TV show, the 38-year-old actually had a specific reason for attempting Dancing On Ice - and it wasn't just so that she can tick it off as another show on her list.
The TOWIE legend has always been vocal about her desire to become a mum, and today on Loose Women, she revealed that it had been her inspiration for taking to the ice.
"Regarding having children and everything, I was told I needed to lose weight," she admitted. "That was why I agreed to doing Dancing on Ice, because it was going to help me long-term."
She added that she's "definitely struggled with" people asking her about having a baby, heartbreakingly confessing, "I did have a few problems and did feel kind of, not fully whole, as a woman. Because it was, ‘Oh my god I can’t have children, people are going to look down on me.’"
Thankfully, Gemma revealed that she's sought advice from two more experts, and that things were looking up for her, "Everything is going to be OK, they just said I need to lose weight, they will put me on a drug called Clomid and we will start the process," even confirming that she will be beginning the journey as soon as this year, having lost two and a half stone after being on the show.

The owner of a mechanical repairs company in Essex briefly appeared in TOWIE, and the couple were even rumoured to be engaged at one point before they called it off for good in 2014. Gemma sparked rumours that she'd got back together with Rami in March 2017 when she was spotted wearing the engagement ring he'd bought her, but they split for good later in 2017.

Gemma was romantically linked to her TOWIE co-star Charlie King, and was pictured holding hands with him in London in April 2012. Although nothing was ever confirmed, Gemma did admitted that they kissed on an episode of TOWIE in March 2017, telling him, "Unbelievable... I'm so glad I shared a kiss with you once." Charlie came out as gay live on This Morning in 2014.

Any man who can take treat me like a princess and then share a Club Sandwich with me is definitely "The One" in my books." However, nothing seemed to come of it.

At Arg's 30th birthday party, he stood up and practically declared his love for Gemma, telling the congregation, "Gemma you're so lovely to me, you're always there whenever I need you. You treat me with such respect, you're kind to me and you make me laugh so much." They then had a lovely kiss.

Arg officially asked Gemma to be his girlfriend on TOWIE in April 2018, and the pair don't seem to have looked back since! He's been supporting her during her stint on Dancing On Ice and they've even been talking about having children together.HOWEVER - in March 2019, Arg and Gem briefly split after Arg was found to have sent Gemma some VILE texts. Reports suggested that Gemma 'kicked Arg out of the house' after he shared a video of her snoring, before things escalated and he reportedly told her she has 'more rolls than Greggs'.There were also reports that when Gemma asked Arg to leave her home, the TOWIE star added, 'You fat horrible lump. Nasty mean woman. Who the f--- do you think you are? You've got more rolls than Greggs.' [sic]Thankfully, they're back on track as of March 2019!
Gemma revealed that she'd taken inspiration from Hollywood actress Jennifer Aniston, who earlier this year said, "Do not define me as a woman just because I haven’t had children."
"When I heard that I cried," Gemma confessed. "I had a cup of tea indoors, I had a couple of Rich Tea biscuits and I thought, ‘Do you know what, you’ve made me feel today, totally OK about myself and where I am in my life.’"
She added that boyfriend Arg is on board, and keeps "going on" about it and the fact that he'd like to be married first. "We’re definitely going to marry. We will marry. He wants to do it all properly. Jennifer Aniston has given me the courage to go, ‘Do you know what, if I don’t have a child until I’m 40-years-old, that’s OK. If I look that good at 50 I’m not worried about a thing."
But Gemma added that she's being sensible about her plans for motherhood, and that she's not rushing into it, "When I have my child, I want to give it my all. At the minute I’ve been very busy with my career. I want, when that baby’s born, to love it so much I will never want to let it go.
"It gets me emotional talking about it. I want to give my life to that child. At the minute, I don’t know where I am from one day to the next. I really want to be in a position where I’m 100% settled. We’re in the process of moving at the moment. I just want a bit of calm in my life to be the best mum I can be. Arg is doing amazing. He is doing so well. We did say we’ll give it a year, to make sure he stays in this great place. He’s so good with children."
