Jess Shears and Dom Lever shocked us all back in September when they announced their engagement just three months after getting together in the Love Island villa and now they’ve gone one better with a surprise wedding on LIVE TV (in their pants, no less).
The couple took their vows in the Good Morning Britain studio, with a newly ordained Richard Arnold conducting the ceremony.
Shunning a traditional wedding dress in favour of a white bikini and veil, Jess promised not “to pie Dom off even if Muggy Mike comes along” in her vows while Dom promised to “share his life on social media” with her because she was his “type on paper”. How romantic.
Good Morning Britain had previously teased on Twitter that there would be a surprise celeb wedding on their show but kept the identity of the couple under wraps.
The ceremony wasn’t attended by any of Jess and Dom’s Love Island cast members but GMB presenters Kate Garraway and Jeremy Kyle were joined by Celebs Go Dating’s Nadia Essex to shower the happy couple with confetti as they walked down the aisle.
There could be one slight problem though as it appears that Jess can’t legally call herself Mrs Lever just yet.
“The ITV studio isn’t sanctioned for a wedding ceremony, so technically it’s not legally binding,” a source told The Sun. But if the trials and tribulations of the Love Island villa can’t get in the way of Jess and Dom’s relationship they’re definitely not going to let this hold them back and have already promised to have another ceremony in Mykonos later this year.
