Despite a lot of people feeling outraged that she was out, the 42 year old smiled as she and Carl went to a restaurant in Essex for dinner – quashing speculation that they’d split.

And we’re told she’s even considering a rehab wedding. “Katie wants to get things locked down with Carl because she doesn’t know what is around the corner,” says an insider close to the former glamour model, who was given a suspended sentence in September to complete her treatment at the Priory, and is due back in court in December.
“She’s obviously worried she could face prison and is doing whatever she can to take her mind off it, and also start repairing her public image. She’s said she’ll marry Carl in rehab if she has to – she feels she’s had stranger weddings in the past. She knows it would be in bad taste to have a lavish party after her drink and drugs shame, so having it at her treatment centre makes a lot of sense to her.” Katie still hasn’t commented personally on her struggles, but last week, her family posted on Instagram on her behalf, issuing a public apology for her behaviour (after repeated calls for her to do so) and thanking fans for their support.
They said in a statement, “Kate acknowledges and takes full responsibility for her actions. She knows they were wrong and apologises.” Still, the statement raised eyebrows, as they also took the opportunity to plug Katie’s new book about her life with 19-year-old disabled son Harvey. “Kate’s love for Harvey is something that can never be questioned,” her family told fans – alongside a link to pre-order the book.

“In their new book Harvey & Me, we hope you can gain a sense of their relationship.” According to our source, Katie, who’s also mum to Junior, 16, 14, Jett, eight, and sevenyear-old Bunny, is hell-bent on repairing her public image, which is why she’s so keen to promote her book. She feels the public respects her most in her role as a loving mum. Among its revelations, the book reveals she’d considered having an abortion three times while pregnant with Harvey, after his footballer dad Dwight Yorke offered no support whatsoever, and later “disowned” their son.
However, her family and friends are begging her to sit still after such a troubling few months. Her car crash in September was just the climax of a traumatic period, which also included her being assaulted at home in August. At the time, a 32-year-old man was arrested and released on bail – prompting Carl to hit back at trolls who accused him of being the one who had hit her.
With so much stress and uncertainty, her loved ones think that getting married again would only add to the chaos. “She’s terrified of losing Carl,” we’re told. “She sees them getting married as a fresh start and a new chapter, and she feels that the public and the judge will see that, too. But friends think she is moving too fast and instead needs to show the public that she is taking what she has done seriously.”

Katie might be plotting happiness with one future spouse, but she’s facing conflict with another ex-husband, Peter Andre. The singer, who shares Junior and Princess with Katie, has reportedly called in lawyers over claims made in Katie’s upcoming book that he had “no interest” in keeping in touch with stepson Harvey after they split in 2009.
According to reports, Pete’s legal team have sent letters to Katie, as well as evidence disproving her claims. A source said last week, “Pete is a great dad – he was devastated to be blocked from seeing Harvey and begged to see him more and more. He’s tried on hundreds of occasions to see him… He doesn’t talk about Katie, she needs to stop talking about him.”
