You learn to expect the unexpected when it comes to the Kardashians, and Khloé’s news last week was certainly that. The reality star shocked fans with the announcement that she and her cheating ex-boyfriend Tristan Thompson are expecting a baby any day now via a surrogate. An insider tells heat that Khloé – who is already mum to four-year-old True – can’t wait to be a parent again and is loving the fact that she didn’t have to put her body through another pregnancy.
“We can confirm True will have a sibling who was conceived in November,” said a statement from the 38 year old’s rep.
“Khloé is incredibly grateful to the extraordinary surrogate for such a beautiful blessing.” heat’s insider says, “Khloé’s always wanted another baby, and when she and Tristan approached the surrogate, they were in a committed relationship.” The beauty mogul finally dumped the 31-year-old basketball star for good last December, just a month after their surrogate conceived.
Their split followed the news that Tristan had fathered a child with another woman, with him refusing to acknowledge paternity until January. The pair had previously weathered multiple cheating allegations
in their five-year relationship, including allegations that he had kissed Kylie Jenner’s BFF Jordyn Woods.
Now, our insider says Khloé is adamant she won’t be getting back together with Tristan. “They’re still figuring out exactly how it will work,” we’re told. “Their surrogate was already pregnant when the paternity scandal exploded, and Khloé wanted this baby whatever happened. She had to make that painful decision to separate from him
and deal with the situation on her own. Tristan’s promised to be involved with the child’s upbringing every step of the way and she has zero doubt in her mind that he means it. For all of Tristan’s faults, he’s always been a terrific father to True, and Khloé is grateful for that.”
Last week, Khloé celebrated her imminent new arrival with an epic trip to Turks and Caicos with big sister Kim, whose youngest two children were both born via surrogate. They showed off their million- dollar figures in an array of bikinis, with Khloé sharing several vacay snaps of herself on the beach and telling her 261million followers, “Do not disturb... We are having fun.”
And, we’re told, Khloé loves that she didn’t have to sacrifice her new bod to expand her brood. “There were medical reasons that factored into her decision to use a surrogate, but not putting such a strain on her body was a huge motivation,” says the source.
Khloé has previously opened up about her fertility journey on the family’s TV show, revealing, “[My doctor] just said it probably wasn’t the best idea for me to carry. She’s nervous and cautious about a couple of things.” In another episode, she also said, “They said it’s an 80 per cent chance I’ll miscarry. I almost miscarried with True at the beginning.”
Our source continues, “Kim and Khloé know their bodies are their meal ticket. They made a pact at the start of the year that they’d go all out to get into the best possible shape, and they’ve thrown themselves into the project. Kim even upped the insurance premium on her butt from $21million to $100million. It’s getting quite competitive between them – they’re both in the gym constantly and are spending thousands every month on their looks.”
The source adds, “They live to see jaws dropping with envy, admiration and confusion everywhere they go.”
