It’s been one of the highest-profile – and long running – divorces in celeb history but last week it looked as if the marriage between Ant McPartlin and Lisa Armstrong could officially be over.
A newspaper report claimed that they had reached finally a financial settlement and had agreed to share custody of their beloved dog Hurley after a face-to-face showdown with their lawyers.
“They both decided they wanted it resolved,” a source said. “Ant and Lisa agreed to settle and sign their divorce agreement during a productive and civil meeting on Tuesday.
"Ant is delighted because it means he can put what has been a very difficult chapter in his life behind him and move on. For Lisa, the start of a new decade gave her a fresh mindset. It’s been tough but it’s time to put it in the past. Neither of them could keep living with something so toxic hanging over them.”
The reports alleged Lisa could get up to £31 million but Lisa quickly took to Twitter to deny this, making it clear it has never been about the money and more about the pain she’s been through.

This is not the first time Lisa, 43, has spoken on Twitter about how badly she was treated by Ant, also 43, throughout their marriage and subsequent split at the start of 2018.
They had been married for 11 years but their marriage ended following Ant’s second stint in rehab for drink and drug addiction. He then soon got together with his PA Anne-Marie Corbett and Lisa would often vent her fury about their relationship on social media.

It’s also claimed that neither Ant nor Lisa signed a confidentiality agreement, which apparently is what Ant had originally wanted.
Lisa was said to be keen to have a day in court so she could get her side of the story across or have the option to give an interview if they settled out of court.
And as heat’s told you before, Lisa was never interested in the money and that still remains the case.

“Lisa doesn’t care about Ant’s money and has said from the beginning that all she wants to be able to do is tell her side of the story and speak her truth,” our insider revealed at the time.
“She prides herself on being an independent woman who can take care of herself. She has worked extremely hard to build her career as a TV make-up artist and she is really sought-after in the industry.
"She’s not interested in leading a lavish lifestyle and makes her own money. Their mutual friends say that Ant is going to be sour and floored by her actions if she goes through with donating lots of the money to charity. He already feels as though the divorce has massively damaged his career and reputation.”
