It’s no secret that heat loves a love story so, naturally, we’re buzzing to see Lisa Armstrong’s relationship go from strength to strength.
The TV make-up artist has been dating her boyfriend James Green since summer 2020, but over the last six months, they’ve really taken their romance to the next level, spending more and more time with each other’s families, going on romantic holidays together, and even getting matching “Amore” tattoos.

And last week, Lisa offered us another peek into her romantic world, as she shared a series of loved-up pictures to wish her beau a happy birthday, and also shared snapshots from their recent city break. Posting on Instagram, the 45 year old told James, “Happy Birthday my gorgeous boy. Have the best day, you deserve it!!! Love you so much,” before posting some adorable selfies of the pair cuddling up in bed together and posing in the sun. Lisa’s fans were quick to congratulate the star, with one commenting, “Love seeing you happy”, and another writing, “You obviously upgraded this time.”
And according to insiders, Lisa agrees with that sentiment. We’re told she’s “never been happier” than she is with the 38-year old electrician and, as far as she’s concerned, she’s won the romance lottery.
“In many ways, Lisa credits James with saving her from the brink,” says an insider close to the make-up guru, who split from ex-husband Ant McPartlin in 2018 and finalised their acrimonious divorce two years later.
“She was in a really dark place following the split from Ant, but all that now feels like ancient history. She feels reborn. She’s not saying it was a man who saved her – because essentially she was the one who plucked up the courage to get back out there and start dating again – but it has been meeting James and learning to trust him and letting him into her private world that’s really lifted her spirits.”
There’s no denying that Lisa’s been through the wringer over the past few years, especially after going through a high-profile divorce, and then being forced to see Ant’s new relationship with their former PA Anne-Marie Corbett – and their subsequent wedding – play out in public.
But Lisa’s held her head high throughout it all and, since taking her romance with dad-of-two James to the next level, she doesn’t seem have stopped smiling. As she herself often tells us with a hashtag, she’s finally found her “#HappyPlace”.
“Everything is easy with James,” we’re told. “He’s very sweet-natured, and all her friends and family have raved about him. Lisa feels like it was meant to be.”
