It’s fair to say that Lisa Armstrong’s had some ups and downs over the past few years, ever since splitting from her ex-husband Ant McPartlin in 2018. On the one hand, her career’s gone from strength to strength (with another massively successful turn as head of make-up on Strictly Come Dancing behind her), she’s fully settled into her beautiful new home and her relationship with boyfriend James Green is still putting a massive grin on her face.
And yet, Ant’s wedding to new wife Anne-Marie Corbett in August put a slight dampener on her amazing year – especially as Lisa was publicly slammed by his PR rep, who told her to “move on” on social media, a month later.
But this year, we’re pleased to say that Lisa’s finally and definitively moving on for good and is flinging any memory of her ex-husband far from her mind. According to insiders, the make-up expert is riding high after a fabulous Christmas spent at home with electrician James and their respective families, who got on like a house on fire. And apparently, they’re all so happy and comfortable together that a wedding seems like the obvious next step. Your move, James.

It’s clear that Lisa has got increasingly comfortable with sharing snaps of her and James’ time together with her followers over the past year-and-a-half. But last month, she shared even more about their happy home life, as she posted a picture of herself alongside, James, her mum Linda, his parents and his son and daughter from his first marriage – all in matching Christmas jumpers on Christmas Eve. The 45 year old wrote alongside the festive snap, “It’s nearly time!!! Happy Christmas Eve, all!”
Our source tells us that Christmas was a chance for Lisa and James to properly get to know each other’s loved ones and come together like one big, extended family. And the fact that they all enjoyed their time together so much proved to them both that this relationship is for keeps.
“What has really sealed the deal for Lisa and James is how well they get on with each other’s families,” we’re told. “Lisa really wants James to have his own stamp on her house and she’s really encouraging him to treat her place as their home; he’s already had his family and friends over for dinners and small gatherings. They all love Lisa and agree that she’s great for him. Everyone is championing them as a couple and are thrilled that they’ve found each other. There was a time during her divorce when Lisa really thought she’d never find someone else, but James has proven her wrong.”
