Little Mix have sensationally split from (now former) boss Simon Cowell's record label Syco almost seven years after winning The X Factor.
Jade Thirlwall, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards and Jesy Nelson are set to release their fifth album, LM5, on November 16th after recently picking up an MTV EMA for Best UK & Ireland Act; but behind the scenes 'rows' between the band, label and Modest Management forced them to part ways and move to Sony subsidiary RCA with Rak-Su.
Speaking to The Sun{
“We do, of course, wish all artists affected by this decision every future success. Consequently, LM5, the forthcoming Little Mix album A&R’d and released on Syco Music, is to be serviced by RCA at the request of Syco and Simon Cowell."
In an interview for the December 2018 issue of Attitude magazine, the girls hinted at problems with their team behind the scenes. Explaining that something 'crazy' had happened, she said: "We feel a bit funny about it, but in due time we'll speak out and raise awareness because it's not right."
Discussing the band's position in the industry, Jade elaborated: "Seven years on, you'd think we would have earned our right as a group, as artists, to be heard more.
"It's a constant battle. It's getting better, but I think there is a lot to be done."
Fuelling fans' suspicions the group may be set to leave their team earlier this week, Jesy Nelson also liked an Instagram post captioned 'they're gonna leave Syco then tell us what sh*t Syco put them through' [sic].
When a fan then begged Jesy to 'spill the tea,' she responded 'soon come ❤️' [sic].
Praising the girls following their performance of Power and Reggaetón Lento with CNCO on last year's final of The X Factor, Simon Cowell said: "Little Mix, I feel so proud right now.
"You came on the show, you won, you became the biggest girlband in the world and you did it your way."
