It’s been a difficult few weeks for Love Island’s Dr Alex George following the breakdown of his relationship with girlfriend Ellie Hecht amid rumours he cheated on her with four other women, however things after looking up for the 2018 Islander after he shared some exciting baby news over the weekend.
No, Dr Alex isn’t expecting a child of his own just yet, but two of his closest pals have a baby on the way and he will become the little one’s godfather.
The mental health ambassador made the adorable announcement on Instagram as he posed on the beach with Emma and Adam, his two best friends that are expecting.
Alongside a sweet snap of himself cradling Emma’s blossoming bump, Alex wrote, “I’M GOING TO BE A GODFATHER 😭.
“Adam was camera shy to take ‘the bump’ photo and so as godfather to be, I stepped in. Not sure why he’s holding mine however 😂.”
He continued, “These two have been incredible friends to me for so many years. Emma is 19 weeks pregnant with their first child and I am so so happy for them. I cant wait to get the little one stomping 💙.”

Dr Alex was inundated with congratulations from his followers in the comments section, including one who wrote, “Couldn’t think of a better godfather 💙🥰.”
Another added, “Congratulations, you will make a wonderful godfather 😍,” while a third commented, “It's lovely to hear some good news.”

Alex’s news comes after his ex-girlfriend Ellie broke his silence on their split for the first time earlier this month. After it was reported that the doctor swapped steamy messages with four women behind her back, Ellie, a barristers’ clerk, told her Instagram followers, “This has been a very difficult time for me so I really do value all the kind messages. However, I’d appreciate if you could respect my privacy at this time as well."
Alex also shared a social media statement of his own at the time, which read, “It's wise not to judge situations that you do not understand. Just a Sunday thought.”
Since then , it’s been claimed that he’s ready to move on and has a joined exclusive celebrity dating app Raya in the hopes of finding love. A source told The Sun, “Alex wanted to get straight back into the dating game and has got a profile on Raya. He is using a selfie he took in his car as his lead profile picture and he describes himself as a campaigner.”
