Love Island 2017 star Montana Brown has called out the show over its lack of 'body diversity'; suggesting producers have a duty to be more inclusive in their casting.
With this summer's series already making headlines as Vicky Pattison's boyfriend Ercan Ramadan and Instagram star Braelin Kail Peery are rumoured to have been approached to join the cast, Montana joined an important debate around body image on Good Morning Britain.

Discussing the argument that Barbie dolls are an 'unrealistic portrayal of women,' host Susanna Reid pointed out 'a lot of people thought that about Love Island.' She explained: "Actually, young girls watching Love Island realistically only saw one type of body looking fabulous in a bikini."
Montana responded: "I would completely agree with that. We should definitely be seeing more of a body diversity on Love Island."
When Ben Shepherd asked Montana if she was 'compounding the problem' by appearing on the show, the star was quick to defend herself.
"Is that my fault they didn’t cast a broad range of women? Probably not," she said. "You don’t know who else is being cast or going on the programme."

Sam seems to be doing alright for himself on Geordie Shore, so we don't think he's too gutted.

Olivia Attwood and Chris Hughes (2017): SPLIT
The couple were plagued with cheating rumours throughout their relationship (who can forget that whole Chris Hughes and Katie Price debacle?). Since their ITVBe show Crackin' On ended, Olivia's confirmed she's back with ex-boyfriend Bradley Dack.

Samira Mighty and Frankie Foster: SPLIT
Frankie reportedly cheated on Samira and that was that. Done. Over. thank u, next.

Laura Anderson and Paul Knops: SPLIT
There's no bad blood between Laura and Paul, but they split months after making it to the final of the show.

Jack Fincham and Dani Dyer: SPLIT
Although they briefly split in 2018, in April 2019, Jack Fincham announced he was no longer in a relationship with Dani, just hours before her book launch. (OUCH).
This all comes after ITV2 controller Paul Mortimer defended the show over claims producers only cast 'sexy people.'
Speaking at the Edinburgh TV Festival last year, he explained: "We’re a sexy channel. We cast sexy people.
"I think on the body image thing, we cast very attractive people. It’s a sexy show, it is entertainment on ITV2 and in the same way Hollywood casts a certain type to get bums on seats in theatres or other shows, the Strictly dancers or whatever.
"Also, for us, it’s a very aspirational programme for our audience. It’s the perfect holiday they can only aspire towards, it comes along at a time when people are readying for holiday, a week in Magaluf or whatever, and we’re showing them the best example of what they could have."
