Former Love Island hunk Sam Bird has been mocked by his fellow Island mates after he made the wild claim on Instagram that his DMs were open.

A rookie mistake for someone with nearly a million followers, surely?

Sam, who was one of the later arrivals on 2018's Love Island, announced to his followers that he is open to all "business" enquiries and other Islanders were quick to rib him for it

The personal trainer from Norwich, who even trained Made In Chelsea's Georgia 'Toff' Toffolo before she won Queen of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!, posted a picture of himself in a fancy pants restaurant.

"DMs open for business," he captioned the post.

Jack Fowler, who rose to fame on the same season, kicked off the bantz as he commented, "Cuffin' season is really here".

Adam Collard also joined in and told Sam, "Wow zero chill", as well as Dr Alex George saying, "Toss😂".

The opportunity for some outrageous flirting wasn't lost on his many female fans, with plenty showing an interest in what kind of business, exactly, Sam was int he market for.

"Sliding in for travel advice. Hoping to run into you whilst in the UK x", and someone also said, "You’re so hot đŸ˜đŸ”„".

One follower said, "Looking good Sam", and another wrote to the Islander, "😍 wow slide in my DM’s x".

Worth a shot, eh?

While in the villa, Sam turned several heads when he arrived during Casa Amor, but took a strong fancy to the villa's most "loyal" girl, Georgia Steel.

After the series had finished, the pair did the whole lot – met the parents, and even moved in together.

They eventually split when it was claimed that Sam discovered a number of messages Georgia had sent to her ex-boyfriend, as well as a picture of them in bed together.

Sam said, “Georgia told me she stayed with a friend after being at a PA, she said she came home and then went back out to a friend's but that didn’t seem plausible.

“My gut feeling was found to be true. She’s not the person I thought she was."
