Although they were both unlucky in love during their time in the villa, Love Island stars Luke Mabbott and Lucie Donlan appear to have finally found what they were looking for after recoupling in the outside world.

The loved-up pair went official last summer and now, just under a year later, Luke has made a major commitment to his girlfriend by getting a tattoo tribute inked on his arm.

The Justin Bieber lookalike is no stranger to an inking or two and has expanded his collection to celebrate his relationship with Lucie.

A clearly delighted Lucie showed off the tattoo on her Instagram story as she explained the meaning behind the sweet gesture.

Alongside a photo of the new ink, she wrote, “Luke got two nurse sharks representing us 😍 because we swam with them in the Maldives… he’s the cutest 🥺.”

Yewande Biala and George Rains were not even in the villa at the same time but outside they seem to be having a whale of a time. Fans were buzzing in August when the Casa Amor star appeared to have Yewande's makeup all over his face.

Luke's tribute to Lucie comes just a couple of months after she dropped a major hint she's ready to marry the former heating engineer while responding to fans’ assumptions about her on Instagram.

When one of her followers wrote, “You’re waiting for Luke to pop the question 🤫,” Lucie replied, “True… 🤫👀,” and tagged her boyfriend.

Speaking to new! magazine earlier this year, she added, "Luke is so calm and caring. He’s very positive and I just love spending every minute with him. He’s definitely ‘The One’. When you know, you know."

Luke’s equally as gushy about his girlfriend and revealed last year that they’ve “never argued” despite the pressures of lockdown.

“It feels like we have been together for years. Lockdown fast-forwarded our relationship, but it made us stronger. We got to spend more time together and quickly found we have the same interests,” he told The Sun.

“We haven’t argued once since we’ve been together. I owe a lot to Love Island. It’s given me my dream girlfriend I’ve wanted for ages.

“We’re definitely soulmates. It’s weird how it all works out. It was an amazing experience. I wouldn’t change it for the world.”
