Love Island's Marcel Somerville has broken his silence following his split from Gabby Allen; admitting he's 'not even close' to moving on from his ex-girlfriend yet.

Earlier this month it was revealed the pair had broken up after Marcel cheated on Gabby as they holidayed together, and now the Blazin' Squad star reckons it's 'quite upsetting' to attend events like last weekend's TV BAFTAs without her.

Speaking ahead of the ceremony - which saw Love Island pick up the Best Reality and Constructed Factual award - Marcel said: "I’ve spent so much time with Gabs over the past 10 months.

"All of the special things we have done together...it feels like she should be here with me now but I’m here by myself.

"It is quite upsetting. When you split up with someone you need to take some time for yourself before you even think about moving on.

"In my head I’m not even close to thinking about going after someone else at all."

Confirming the split recently, Marcel's rep told Metro: "Marcel can’t really defend his actions as he knows what he did wrong and will regret it forever.

"Marcel is upset that he broke the heart of someone he loves and someone that he shared so many special moments with, but with all the good times there are difficult times, and sadly Marcel and Gabby had been in a bad place at this stage."

This all comes after Gabby thanked fans for their support following Marcel's cheating. Sharing a note on Twitter, she said: "Thank you to everyone for your kind messages, love and support. It's been a tough couple of days, I think I might still be in a bit of shock!

"But I'm sure in time I will be OK. I have the best family and friends around me. I'm a lucky girl."
