Love Island’s Megan Barton-Hanson is currently loved-up with TOWIE star James Lock, but she’s admitted that didn’t intend on dating another reality star following her high-profile relationships with Wes Nelson and Demi Sims.
The new couple are believed to have met while filming the new series of MTV’s Celebrity Ex on the Beach in Tenerife and were spotted snogging on a night out earlier this month shortly after arriving back in the UK. They then confirmed they were officially an item when both Megan and Lockie shared videos from a cosy date night at Essex restaurant and celeb hotspot Aspera on their Instagram stories.
Despite giving fans a glimpse into their blossoming romance, the pair have remained relatively tight-lipped about their relationship so far although Megan did let slip that she was initially against dating Lockie due to his celeb status as she answered questions during a social media Q&A with fans.
When one of her followers asked, “Would you date a non famous person?”, the reality star had a very interesting response.
She replied, “Yeah, I actually would. That was the plan but…”
Megan tagged her new man in the post, suggesting that their relationship had changed her mind.

After getting together with Lockie, it’s been reported that Megan could be set to join the cast of TOWIE which could lead to an awkward reunion with her ex Demi. The pair met while taking part in Celebs Go Dating back in 2019 and quickly struck up a whirlwind romance before, according to Demi, Megan ended their relationship just one day after filming ended.
At the time, Demi fumed that Megan “used” her, but it seems that they’re back on good terms as Demi admitted that she wouldn’t have a problem if Megan did join the cast of the ITVBe show.
She told Closer, “I filmed a show called Eating With My Ex with Megan last December and we just cleared the air and left it there, so if she comes on the show with Lockie then good luck to them. I don’t know [if she will] as we’ve only got a couple of weeks left of filming.”
When asked how she feels about her ex hooking up with one of her pals, Demi added, “It’s just Essex, init.”

Elsewhere in the Q&A, another fan asked Megan if she “still keeps in touch” with “the Lord” Scott Disick following the bizarre messages she received from the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star confronting her for “mugging off” Eyal Booker two years after they appeared on Love Island together.
At the time, Megan admitted Scott’s rant had left her “speechless” and “genuinely a little concerned”.
It appears there’s still no love lost between them as Megan laughed at the question and threw some shade Scott’s way as she replied, “No, we don’t speak much these days. Hopefully he’s found a healthier way to vent the anger.”
