Megan Barton Hanson has revealed that she’s currently blocked from popular dating app Hinge because it assumes she’s catfishing users.
Catfishing is the term given to individuals pretending to be other people online, often using the pictures and names of those in the public eye.
And in her inaugural column for Vice, where the former Love Islander and sex-positivity influencer discusses dating in the pandemic, she’s complained that one of the biggest platforms for virtual hook ups is no longer accessible to her.
“We’re still in lockdown and it would be great to have a Netflix partner to watch all these new shows with, plus I’m currently blocked from Hinge because it thinks I’m a catfish,” she said. “Hinge, if you’re reading this, please set me free!”
