After losing acts like Little Mix and One Direction in recent years, music mogul Simon Cowell confirmed back in July that he was walking away from Syco Music. Don’t feel too sorry for him though as he’ll be receiving an eight-figure goodbye deal, plus he’s still in control of Syco Entertainment which owns The X Factor and the Got Talent shows.
But it seems that his decision is having a knock-on effect with some of the artists still signed to the label, including Megan McKenna.
Megan, 27, who shot to number one on iTunes with her independently released debut single back in 2017, had been in the process of recording an album with Syco Music after winning The X Factor: Celebrity but it appears the label has collapsed following Simon’s departure, throwing a bit of a spanner in the works.
However, it looks like the reality star turned country singer has no need to worry as she reportedly has several major labels fighting to sign her up AND she still has Simon as a mentor.

A source told The Sun, “It’s a dream situation. Simon said he can call her whenever she wants and will always be at the end of the phone.
"Megan’s happy as it means she can choose where she wants to go and isn’t tied down.”

Look! More news!
In 2018, Megan released her debut album Story Of Me. She later toured the country and even performed one of its singles, Everything But You, in her X Factor audition. In the show’s final, she beat YouTubers Max and Harvey with a cover of Leona Lewis’ One More Sleep.
The X Factor: Celebrity proved a big hit with viewers, and many were surprised at the hidden talent of some of our favourite stars. The Chase’s Jenny Ryan finished in third place whilst Love Island stars Wes Nelson, Samira Mighty, Eyal Booker and Zara McDermott formed a group called No Love Lost and finished in eighth place.
Unlike a lot of reality stars that have tried their hand at a music career, we think Megan actually has a pretty good chance of making it.
