TOWIE is finally returning to our screens this month following an extended break after the coronavirus pandemic delayed filming earlier this year and the ITVBe show is well and truly back with a bang as iconic cast members like Amy Childs and Danielle Armstrong have been spotted filming new scenes.
After much speculation, a number of old faces have been confirmed to return to the show that made them famous to celebrate its 10th anniversary but we couldn’t help but notice the absence of some of Essex’s biggest names like Mark Wright, Lauren Goodger and James Argent.
It turns out this hasn’t gone unnoticed by the cast either as vajazzle queen Amy Childs has accused Mark Wright of forgetting his roots after he chose not to be involved in the anniversary celebrations.
“TOWIE is a part of our lives. It is how we got famous. TOWIE basically made us all, so I think it’s only fair we come back to support the show’s ten-year anniversary. Without TOWIE, Mark and the others wouldn’t be where they are now,” Amy told The Sun.
“Mark is a friend of mine but I think we have to remember where we have come from. The show has achieved so much. It has given us all amazing opportunities and lives.
“It is a shame Mark has chosen not to celebrate and be a part of that. It is the least we can do. Everyone loved Mark. He was known as the King of Essex. He’ll always be a huge part of the show and I’m shocked he’s chosen not to be there.”

Another Essex legend who opted not to get involved with the TOWIE reunion is Lucy Mecklenburgh after she become a mum for the first time earlier this year.
The 29-year-old, whose rocky relationship with Mario Falcone played out on our screens over the years, is said to be too busy with her baby son Roman who she shares with fiancé Ryan Thomas, as well as her fitness venture, to make a comeback.
“Lucy loves the show and has a real soft spot for it but unfortunately she’s too busy to fit in filming for the reunion,” a source said.
“She has so much going on at the moment. Between being a new parent and her business, there is barely any time she could put aside to be on the show.”
