Montana Brown has bravely spoken out about secretly suffering a miscarriage for the first time.

The Love Island star shared the heart-breaking news with fans in a YouTube video, in which she explained that was on the contraceptive pill when she unknowingly conceived a child with her ex-boyfriend Elliott Reeder.

Montana, who split from Elliott in January after two years together, opened up about being “shocked and confused” when she discovered she’d become part of the nine percent of women who fall pregnant while taking the pill.

In the candid video, Montana said, “I've been on the pill since I was about 15. I'm sometimes just a bit bad with taking it. To be fair, I'm now very particular with my pill because I got pregnant on the pill, last year.

“It was so bad. I was shocked because I was like 'no, surely not!' and I remember I found out... It really was awful. To be fair it wasn't that awful, because I naturally miscarried, but I was actually on the pill when it happened and I was so confused.”

The 24-year-old explained that she began to suspect she was pregnant after feeling her breasts “spasm’ while visiting a friend, who then convinced her to take a test.

“I p--sed on the stick... and there was a very faint line. Then I got a Clearblue test and it was like 'four to five weeks pregnant' and I was like 'Brilliant!',” she recalled.

Montana went on to urge fans to take extra precautions during sex as the pill isn’t not 100% effective at preventing pregnancy.

The reality star, who revealed that she’s secret pals with A-list actress Rebel Wilson earlier this year, was rumoured to be dating semi-pro footballer Charlie Edwards six months after her split from Elliott but she later cleared up her relationship status in another YouTube video.

Confirming she was in fact single, Montana said, “I am officially single, but actually loving it. Also, the show must go on, I'm feeling pretty fresh.

“I mean I wasn't feeling fresh when it first happened, don't get me wrong, I was pretty down in the dumps. But I feel like everything happens for a reason, I've been really able to focus on myself and my personal growth, personal goals.

“I've met some amazing people along the way, I think everything happens for a reason."
