Following on from Myleene Klass’ shock revelation that she caught former fiancé Graham Quinn ‘unzipping’ a mystery famous female at her birthday party, the former Hear’Say pop star – who is now engaged to PR guru Simon Motson – was spotted without her engagement ring last week.
Sparking confusion when she was later spotted with it back on, insiders tell heat her relationship with fiancé Simon has hit a rough patch – leaving him contemplating their future marriage plans. Myleene, 47, and Simon, 49, have been engaged since 2020, but our source tells us, ‘He felt completely blindsided by Myleene’s revelations. He had no idea she was going to open up about her ex in such a public way and wishes she’d at least given him a heads-up, instead of being hit with the fallout, which he said was humiliating.
‘From Simon’s point of view, it was unnecessary drama. They’re supposed to be building a future together and suddenly the focus has shifted back to Myleene’s past. He feels betrayed that she didn’t think about the impact on him or their wedding plans.’
The mum of three opened up on Paul C. Brunson’s We Need To Talk podcast, sharing how she’d once walked in on her ex Graham ‘with a famous person on my birthday on a balcony’. She recalled, ‘I’m in my house, it’s my party. They weren’t having sex, but they were unzipping each other.’
Myleene met bodyguard Graham in 2001, and the pair share daughters Ava, 18, and Hero, 14. The celeb incident happened before they got married, and while she admitted it was a ‘pretty big red flag’, she went through with the wedding in 2011. She revealed that she wanted a divorce just three days into their marriage, and they split six months later.
Now, with Myleene’s confession about her ex-husband rocking her relationship with Simon, our insider tells us, ‘She has admitted she got it wrong and has apologised to Simon repeatedly. She told him she’d buried that trauma for so long, she didn’t realise how much it was still lurking beneath the surface – and speaking out was a way of trying to deal with it.’ Our source adds that Myleene has ‘begged’ Simon to forgive her, saying, ‘She knows she’s hurt him and is desperate to prove she has put this behind her.’
The radio presenter met Simon when they were set up on a blind date in 2015, shortly after he had split from his ex-wife. He has a son and daughter from his previous relationship, and he and Myleene welcomed son Apollo in 2019, before getting engaged in 2020. Despite being engaged for five years, there’s been no sign of a wedding so far.
Myleene previously shared, ‘We have a lot of children between us, so at the minute, it’s just one of those things that’s rumbling along. I reckon it will just happen. We made that promise to each other and to the children and I’m going to honour it. It really does mean so much to all of them. We know we’re going to be together forever.’
But it seems like there could be some work to be done in their relationship before they walk down the aisle, as we’re told, ‘Myleene knows she’s created fresh drama at a time when they should be excited about planning their wedding. Instead of talking about flowers and venues, they’ve been arguing about the past. There’s a real fear that if things don’t calm down, Simon could call the whole thing off, which is understandably heartbreaking for Myleene to even contemplate, as she can’t imagine losing him after everything they’ve been through.
‘Her friends are urging her not to let her past ruin her future. They want her to fix this before it’s too late – she’s finally found happiness with Simon and everyone can see how much she loves him. She’ll do whatever it takes to make things right, so she can walk down the aisle to the man of her dreams.’
