Break ups are hard, there's no doubt about that.

So we can sympathise with Love Island's Olivia Attwood who has admitted that her health has suffered since her split from Chris Hughes, who she met on the ITV dating show last summer.

The 26-year-old has opened up in her column for New! Magazine about her shock when she watched back the couple's reality show Chris & Olivia: Crackin' On, realising she had lost a lot of weight due to the strain of their relationship.

She said: "I didn’t really like Wednesday’s episode because I looked so ill and was talking about all the weight I’d lost because of all the strain – it just wasn’t me."

It was one scene in particular that upset Olivia, when the pair were driving in a car and the cameras captured an explosive argument in which Chris could be seen and heard shouting and swearing at her.

Olivia explained: "I watched it on my own this time and I think that was better and I found the scenes in the car really hard to watch because I could see in my face that I looked really ill and drained from the whole situation."

But while the couple aren't currently an official item, they are back on speaking terms, even attending the Cheltenham Festival together this week and Olivia is hoping their relationship isn't over for good.

She said: "It's tough... I don't know [if it's over for us]. Watch this space.

"We're back talking again and I do want to make a go of things with him. We're getting along much better now. We're just both very volatile people."
