Ever since finding love on the second series of Love Island way back in 2016 (where HAS the time gone?), Olivia and Alex Bowen have been absolute relationship goals. They became the first ever couple from the ITV2 dating show to get married in 2018, moved into their incredible new home last year and were recently recognised as two of the richest reality TV stars of 2020, so what’s next for them?

Well, Olivia has revealed they were thinking of having a baby but have been forced to put their plans on hold due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

While the likes of Mrs Hinch and Made in Chelsea’s Binky Felstead have recently announced they’re pregnant, Olivia told fans that a lockdown pregnancy is not for her.

She opened up about their decision during an Instagram Q&A session when one fan asked, “Are you and Alex thinking about kids any time soon?”

“We were thinking about it and then things just kinda changed,” she replied.

“Especially with lockdown happening and the world being so sort of unknown at the moment, I put it off. And I’ve still got to go to New York for two months.”

Cara De La Hoyde was one of the original cast members of Love Island 2016 and before she entered she was a circus performer. Cara immediately hit it off with Nathan Massey and the pair coupled from the very beginning. Viewers loved watching their romance unfold and they were crowned winners of the series.

In a caption posted alongside the video, Olivia added, “The world scares me right now so we postponed, I know what I’m like and I know I wouldn’t be good at being pregnant during lockdown I don’t think!

“I need my friends and family close. Hats off to all you strong ladies ❤️❤️❤️.”

Last year, Olivia spoke out about her fears she wouldn’t be able to conceive due to her underactive thyroid during an appearance on Steph’s Packed Lunch on Channel 4.

She said, “I got diagnosed when I was 10. Back then I was good with it, I always took my medication. Whereas now, where I’ve got really busy in the last four years, it has taken a bit of a backseat.

“I have a lot of people asking me, "When are you going to have kids, when do you want to get pregnant?" In the back of my head, I’m like "Can I?", because I’ve been so irresponsible.

“I know how much Alex wants to have kids, so that’s another reason why I need to be a bit more on it and careful, and make sure I’m giving us both the chances.”
