Remember where you were on this day; the day you first saw Olivia Bowen’s silver fox dad Gary.

The Love Island star shared a photo of them both on her Instagram this week to celebrate his 60th birthday, but fans were convinced she’d got his age wrong.

One follower commented, “He looks amazing for 60! Happy birthday ❤️”.

Someone else wrote, “Omg your dad looks so so young!!! 🙌🙌”.

A third said, “He looks amazing for 60?!”

But the comments didn’t stop there and Olivia might soon regret ever sharing Dad with the world.

A second fan said, “Errrr how fit is your dad 🤩”.

Olivia and Alex meet on Love Island

In July 2016, Olivia and Alex met on Love Island. After coupling up with other people on the show, they were then drawn to each other and fell in love. This led to them coming second place on series two. On the show Alex promised to make her tea every morning, and he still sticks to it 4 and a half years later – couple goals.

You could be mistaken for thinking with his slicked back hair and bright white teeth, Gary should be in the villa himself.

And many fans commented that they thought Olivia had snagged a selfie with Jakob Nyman (actor Mikael Persbrandt) from Netflix’s Sex Education - and we have to admit we see the resemblance.

Unfortunately for us, Gary’s Instagram is set to private, so we will just have to hope that Olivia spoils us by sharing more photos of him soon.

Olivia and husband Alex Bowen – who first met in the villa – admitted that their younger selves were absolute “nightmares” when it came to love and would never have settled down without Love Island.

Asked if they wish they’d met away from the cameras, the couple agreed that being stuck in the villa was a blessing in disguise.

Speaking to The Sun Olivia said “No! We were both nightmares when we were younger, so I don’t think it would’ve worked unless we had no phones and we were locked in.”

Despite them living at opposite ends of the country, Alex in Birmingham and Olivia in Essex, the pair had crossed paths before the show – they just never knew it.

Olivia said “I went to Birmingham with my friends a lot and we used to go out to the same place as he did!

“I’m so sure we must’ve crossed paths but obviously we were meant to meet in Love Island where it was a controlled environment. It was meant to be.”

The couple came second on the ITV show behind winners Nathan Massey and Cara De La Hoyde and quickly moved in together when they arrived back to the UK.

Alex proposed five months later during a romantic trip to New York, making them the first Love Island couple to tie the knot, which they did in a lavish 2018 ceremony.

There’s even talk of starting a family one day, Olivia said they’re “not putting any pressure on each other but, just letting nature take its course”.

She explained, “We love each other’s company, and we love a night out so obviously we don’t want to do anything too soon.”
