Could there soon be the pitter-patter of tiny feet once again in the Humes household? With their youngest about to turn four, Rochelle has caused speculation after confessing to feeling broody on Insta Stories. But, apparently, husband Marvin is not so keen.
Already parents to daughters Alaia-Mai, 11, Valentina, seven, and son Blake, three, the pair were enjoying an adults-only party holiday in Ibiza last week when the former Saturdays singer, 35, revealed that she hoped to add to her family in the future.
JLS star Marvin, 39, was sitting beside her, and teased Rochelle by popping up in the background to joke they wouldn’t be having more.
But, sources tell heat that, when it comes to baby number four, "broody" Rochelle might just get her way.
"Rochelle hates the fact that Blake will be four in September and no longer a baby, so she would love another little one – especially if it was a boy, so Blake would have a brother," says an insider. "But Marvin isn’t having any of it. He says they’re outnumbered as it is and both have a lot of work on, as well as building their new family home."
Ever since the pair married back in 2012, Marvin and Rochelle have been creating a picture-perfect life. The couple, who present quiz show The Hit List together, as well as stints on This Morning, have spent the last year building their dream home, which is estimated to be worth £5 million. Inside, the pair hope to add grown-up luxuries including a gym, sauna and bar, as well as plenty of room for their three little ones to play.
However, it hasn’t been easy. Speaking in June, the couple revealed that, because they were building the place from scratch, it was taking much longer than expected, and they were still living in rented accommodation. Rochelle then joked that the pair would need to "gain a lot of patience", as they still didn’t know when they’d be moving in.
But, despite the delays, our source says Rochelle is desperate for two more little feet to fill it. "She can be pretty persuasive when she needs to be and she feels her family isn’t complete just yet," the insider adds.
"Their new house is huge, so they certainly have the space for another child. Blake will start school next year, and Rochelle hates the thought of not having a little one around at home with her all day."
Previously, Rochelle has admitted that her and Marvin’s hands "definitely feel very full" when it comes to parenting. But, she’s always insisted she and Marvin have a very balanced relationship when it comes to looking after the kids.
"We co-parent well," she said in an interview last year. "If one of us has commitments, it can be 80/20 or even 60/40, but mostly it’s 50/50. My kids understand how lucky they are and how different things looked for me growing up. Family is my greatest personal achievement."
It’s perhaps little wonder, then, that the star wants to have more kids. "Rochelle absolutely loves having babies and adores it when the kids are little," we’re told.
"Marvin jokily says they’re done with all that now, and can finally start relaxing as the kids get older and can do more things together as a couple. But Rochelle knows she can work on him and if she is to have another baby, she wants to do it soon. Her friends all think she’ll get her own way on this!"
