Anyone who has been following the journey of Pickle Cottage will have been anticipating the completion of the pool almost as much as Stacey Solomon herself. Last week, the 32 year old shared what she joked was the longest “tap to tidy” ever, showing the remarkable transformation of the swimming pool at her £1.2million home.
Now, a source close to the mum of four tells heat she’s so proud of the renovation, that she’s done a U-turn on her wedding plans and wants it to take a starring role in her big day with Joe Swash.
“Stacey is in full-on bridezilla mode right now. She’s crazy busy,” says our insider.
“But it’s not the usual things she’s stressing about – the dress, her catering, the bridesmaids – her biggest concern is transforming Pickle Cottage into the ultimate wedding festival venue. She wants to give the garden area a complete makeover, so it resembles the VIP area at Glastonbury, with glamping-style tents.
“She now wants the pool to be the centrepiece and is encouraging guests to have their swimwear ready, so that they can all take the plunge once she and Joe have exchanged vows and the dinner and speeches are out of the way. She’s been looking at special pool lights and has also been thinking about having a floating floral arrangement.”
Stacey shared snaps of her family – including Leighton, ten, Rex, three, and eight-month-old Rose – enjoying the extravagant pool, telling her followers that, although she was very happy with it, she felt self-conscious about showing it off.
“I often feel like this should have never been ours. Like I’m a true imposter,” the Loose Women star, who is also mum to 14-year-old Zachary, explained.
“And I’m so aware of how lucky we are to have been able to bring this pool back to life again.”
Fortunately Stacey’s not so shy about her lovely house to want to keep her friends and family from enjoying it on her big day. “She loves being a host and entertaining, and even though this is her family base, she wants her home to be the type of place where people love to hang out,” our insider says.
“For the wedding, she wants it to be the ultimate party pad where all the guests can let loose and have the time of their lives. She wants it to be a mini festival complete with food trucks, bunting everywhere, tents, and outdoor DJs, as well as blankets and fire pits, so that guests can lie down and look at the stars once everyone has had enough dancing.”
The source, adds, “She wants people to be talking about this wedding for years and years to come – so she’s determined to make it a night that no one will forget in a hurry.”
