Strictly Come Dancing pro Katya Jones has revealed she’s decided to come off social media after her celebrity partner Mike Bushell received death threats from trolls.
It also comes after she was ‘slut-shamed’ online after kissing comedian Seann Walsh when they were paired together on the show last year.
“I’m off social media; it’s not real,” Katya told The Sun.
“For me, it’s real what we’re doing with our dancing and performance.
“There’s no need for negatives. I just want to do my own thing.”
Mike opened up earlier this week about the abuse he received when Strictly judges made the controversial decision to keep him in the competition and eliminate Coronation Street actress Catherine Tyldesley, revealing online trolls told him he would be a ‘dead man’ if he didn’t quit the show.

Speaking at the Pride of Britain Awards, Mike said: “It said that unless I withdraw from the competition now I'm a dead man.
“It was personal and I thought WTF. There are bigger things in the world to worry about.
“I get that people have their own favourite dancers but it's an entertainment show at the end of the day and to get a death threat is ridiculous.”
The BBC Breakfast presenter vowed to ‘rise above it’ though, adding: “It's people being cowardly isn't it? The show is meant to be happy, make people feel happy.”

Strictly head judge Shirley Ballas also found herself targeted by death threats earlier this month following her decision to eliminate radio DJ Dev Griffin and his partner Dianne Buswell from the show.
Shirley later shared a video of herself hooked up to a drip after falling ill and admitted it had been a ‘tough week’.
Dance pro Dianne rushed to her defence and begged fans not to send abuse on social media.
Dianne said: “Guys this is terrible you can not be bullying like this. It’s awful and really upsets me to hear this. It’s simply not ok and should never happen!”
