Last week we heard that former childhood sweethearts Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber had been ‘hanging out’ again. While there’s been no suggestion they’re anything more than just old pals, team Jelena have been keep their fingers crossed for a full-on reconciliation.
Unfortunately for diehard fans of the former couple, Selena is still seemingly in a relationship with Abel Tesfaye aka The Weeknd – who was apparently totally fine with Sel hanging out with her ex.
According to TMZ, he was “fully aware” of the situation, and the only reason he wasn’t joining in on the big reunion was because he was busy on tour.
However, Justin and Selena have now been spotted enjoying each other’s company again. First for a breakfast date, and then both attending a service at Zoe Church.
“They grabbed breakfast, blueberry smoothies with whipped cream, and were just talking – none of the staff really recognised them,” a source told Us Weekly of their Sunday morning catch up.
“Justin paid for both of them, they looked to be in a good mood, they just sat at a table and chatted for a while, no hand holding or anything, the conversation seemed lighthearted.”
Following this, it appears The Weeknd has unfollowed several members of Selena’s family and friendship group on Instagram.
He’s seemingly stopped following Selena’s mum Mandy Teefey, her assistant Theresa Mingus and a number of her friends, including Francia Raisa who recently donated a kidney to the star.
He is still following Selena, so we’re not entirely sure what’s going on.
Maybe they were just tagging each other in too many memes and The Weeknd felt left out?
However, this does all feel quite familiar. Abel previously unfollowed members of Bella Hadid’s inner circle weeks before unfollowing the model amid their split last year…
