She’s one of the most refreshingly candid stars out there, but behind the scenes, sources say Vicky Pattison has faced cruel trolling over her dreams of becoming a mum. Vicky, 37 – who tied the knot with husband Ercan Ramadan, 31, last year – has long been open about her fertility journey, having made the decision to freeze her eggs in 2022.

But while she’s been a source of inspiration for many women, sources say Vicky – who is rumoured to be joining this year’s Strictly – often feels judged because of her party girl past.

‘Vicky has been sharing her fertility journey for a while, ever since she first revealed how the process of freezing her eggs nearly broke her. While she got a lot of sympathy, she also faced a lot of judgement from trolls who blasted her for spending her youth partying on Geordie Shore.

'Vicky feels there’s a lot of stigma when it comes to why a woman can’t conceive, and people do play the blame game – “You shouldn’t have drunk so much,” or “You should have tried sooner.” Some of the abuse she’s faced has been unbelievable. Although she’s tough, she’s only human.’

Vicky shot to fame on Geordie Shore in 2011, fast gaining a reputation as a wild child. However, since meeting Ercan, her life has been calmer as she swapped bar crawls for dog walks. In recent years, Vicky has invited fans on her fertility journey, appearing on the BBC documentary Egg Freezing And Me.

The star recently opened up about the negativity she received on her Get A Grip podcast, emotionally revealing, ‘I thought I was doing the responsible thing talking about this on social media, providing women with the alternative to feeling rushed and stressed [to start a family.] What I wasn’t prepared for was the vitriol that came from women.’

But despite the hate, we’re told ‘brave’ Vicky is determined to continue sharing her story.

‘Vicky wants to be open about her struggles,’ the source says. ‘Every woman’s journey to conceive is different, and Vicky hopes to break down some of the stigma and be a role model to those who are having the same issues. Her friends are rallying round – she’s a hero to them. They all agree they couldn’t put up with as much trolling as she has.’
