We all know that a horizontal workout can do wonders for a relationship (especially if there’s nothing good on TV) – but sometimes, it’s good to get the blood pumping outside the bedroom – just ask Victoria Beckham.

Over the past few months, the fashion designer’s been upping her fitness game to coincide with the release of her latest Reebok sportswear range. But according to insiders, it’s not just her muscle mass that Vic’s looking to improve – her marriage is also getting a serious seeing-to. We’re told Posh is convinced that, by working out together, she and David are getting closer than ever – and pumping iron with each other is a very effective marriage bootcamp.

“Vic has been feeling really inspired by her new fitness regime,” says an insider close to the 46 year old – who, as we recently told you, has been sharing snippets of her and David’s couples’ workouts over the past month or so.

“She’ll schedule in an exercise session together twice a day sometimes – she swears by it as a release from all the stress of spending so much time at home. It’s also boosting their endorphins and libidos. She’s calling it a miracle cure for any issues or frustrations, as they feel totally revitalised afterwards.”

Posh has appeared to be in a more playful, flirty mood over the past month, sharing pictures from inside their home gym and telling fans, “We love a virtual workout!” She also showed off the results of their home workouts by posing in what she called her “sex pants” before a date night. David has also shared a picture of him doing triceps dips with his shirt off.

And according to our insider, Posh feels like she’s gained a new lease of life since launching her Reebok range – she even thinks it could be the start of a new fitness empire, with David by her side.

“Vic feels like this could be the key to reinventing herself,” we’re told. “She’s told pals that she could see herself becoming an elite fitness influencer. She feels good about her body and likes showing it off in fitness wear for David. She also likes it when they get competitive with each other. Like everyone, they’ve both been under a lot of strain this year, but training together really boosts their moods.”

But, while Posh’s personalised marriage bootcamp seems to be working for now, we’re told there’s some concern among her friends that she’s pushing David into it. After all, while the former footballer, 45, is dedicated to his health and fitness, it’s always been a solo pursuit – a time for him to work out in the way that he chooses. He’s also known to be a frequent visitor to cult gyms such as Barry’s Bootcamp in the UK and SoulCycle in the States.

“David already has his own dedicated style of working out, and he’s always enjoyed doing it as his own thing,” says our source. “So far, he’s been open to Vic’s ideas as he’s so passionate about fitness, but it’s only a matter of time before he’s going to want to take a break and get back to his usual routine. He’s missing his old life before COVID, and he’s got no intention of sticking to the current routine forever, whatever Vic may think.”

Might we suggest a couples’ massage, if all else fails? Surely that’s more restorative than a gruelling HIIT workout for two.
