Paris Fashion Week always brings out the A-listers, so it was no surprise to see David Beckham hanging out with actor Justin Timberlake at last week’s Dior S/S23 show. What might come as more of a surprise was how their wives reacted to the pair reuniting, with insiders telling heat both Victoria Beckham and Jessica Biel have put their feet down about them spending time together.
In fact, we’re told they’ve banned their husbands from going out together at all.
“Justin and David get on really well and were super-excited to see each other,” says an insider close to 47-year-old former footballer David. “They’ve bumped into each other many times over the years – at basketball games, backstage at concerts and at fashion parties. They’ve partied together a few times and they’ve also got loads of mutual friends, so the moment they spotted each other in Paris, it was like old times. Both of them said they’d love to hang out more and were chatting about catching up properly this summer. They want to have a big boys’ night out and really paint the town red.”
David and Victoria – who married in 1999, and are parents to Brooklyn, 23, Romeo, 19, Cruz, 17, and 11-year-old Harper – were both in attendance at last week’s fashion week festivities.
Cruz joined his dad on Dior’s red carpet, while Victoria, 48, instead chose to go to Simon Porte Jacquemus’ “Le Papier” show, which was held on a windy salt flat. Meanwhile, Justin, 41 – who’s dad to boys Silas, seven, and one-year-old Phineas – was in town with wife Jessica, 40, where they attended the Kenzo show (which David and Cruz were also at). It follows a rocky period in their ten-year marriage after Justin was pictured on a night out holding hands with his then co- star Alisha Wainwright. Jessica was pregnant at the time, and later admitted, “We’ve had our ups and downs like everybody.” Justin himself addressed the incident, admitting, “I displayed a strong lapse in judgement”, but denying anything happened between him and Alisha.
The source continues, “The odds of Jessica agreeing to David and Justin going on a big night out together are slim to none. She’s made it very clear she wouldn’t tolerate it. Justin’s had meals out with friends or the occasional beer since the Alisha thing, but him rolling home at three or four in the morning is a thing of the past.”
And Victoria apparently feels the same after years of headlines about David’s wild nights out.
“Vic trusts David, but she’s fully aware if David and Justin went out together, there would be women lining up around the block to throw themselves at them,” says our insider.
“They can pursue a friendship – that’s no problem – but running around town like a pair of twenty- somethings is totally off the table. David’s days of hanging around on the party circuit are over.”
But, we’re told, David might have the solution. “He’s suggested the four of them all go out together,” says the source. “Jessica’s a huge fan of Vic’s – she wears her dresses – and Vic thinks Jess is hugely talented, but they don’t know each other that well. David and Justin would love to put that right, and it would mean they could hang out together without upsetting their wives.”
