We can all acknowledge that this summer has been a bit of a washout, so who could blame a person for camping out in Miami? Victoria Beckham has been living it up in the sunny Florida city, sharing pics of herself enjoying family time, leisurely outdoor dinners, and sandy days on the beach. But now, the fashion designer has told friends she loves it out there so much, she’s considering a permanent move.
“Victoria adores Miami,” says an insider close to the 47 year old, who married David Beckham in 1999, and is mum to Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper.
“She loves its energy and that it’s a healthy, fitness-obsessed place, like LA, but so much more fun. There’s also such a sense of freedom in Miami. Victoria and Harper can go out to grab juices and hang out on the beach all day without being recognised. They have never been able to do that anywhere else – it’s so liberating to not be stared at for once!”
In fact, the whole family love Miami living. “David is really building a presence in the town,” says an insider close to the 46-year-old former footballer, who is now part-owner of Inter Miami FC.
“Miami is soccer-mad, so David’s been welcomed with open arms as part of the new football club. He’s invited to a lot of events, and the whole family have started developing a good social circle. Miami is a very vibrant, social town because it’s warm and sunny all year round, so the family are out to dinner most evenings, meeting up with people and enjoying themselves. Everything feels fuelled by energy, music and sunshine. They’ve all taken Spanish lessons, too.”

David and VB previously had a fairly unsuccessful stint living in America for six years back in 2007. They missed London and their families, but friends say this time couldn’t be more different.
We’re told, “Miami and LA are very different places, and Victoria and David have spoken about a permanent move again. It’s an ongoing conversation, and no decisions have been made, but the deadline is approaching for them to return. Harper and Cruz will be going back to school, and Victoria has London Fashion Week coming up. To be honest, she’s dreading going back. It means leaving David, Romeo and Brooklyn behind, and that’s gut-wrenching for her. It feels like she’s missing a limb, and that she’s only half there.
The source adds, “Of course, she and David would miss their families if they moved to Miami, but all the amazing pros are starting to outweigh the cons.”
