If Victoria and David Beckham thought the Rebecca Loos scandal from the noughties was firmly dead and buried, they were very much mistaken after it was dredged up again last week.

A new TV interview with 60 Minutes Australia created headlines across the world, after David’s former PA Rebecca refused to back down on her claims that she and the footballer had a ‘four-month-long affair’ in 2004, calling her decision to ‘go up against’ him and Victoria ‘brave’. She said, ‘I have stuck to the truth. I’ve never exaggerated. I never lied about a single thing. Why? Because I’m going up against the strongest, most powerful couple in the media, who have all the money in the world for the best PR, the best lawyers. And all I had on my side was the truth.’

Football ace David, 49, has always strenuously denied that he cheated on fashion powerhouse Vic, 50, branding the claims ‘ludicrous’ at the time, and simply referring to them as ‘horrible stories’ in his 2023 docuseries Beckham. But a source tells heat that Victoria is becoming increasingly enraged by Rebecca’s refusal to go away, and is even weighing up a woman-to-woman meet-up to hash it out with her.

We’re told, ‘Vic is at her wits’ end about what to do. She is convinced the only thing to do now is to sit down face-to-face with Rebecca. While that’s a nightmare scenario, Vic feels that the only way to make her stop will be to actually see the pain it’s causing not only her, but her children. Vic’s convinced that Rebecca is hellbent on tearing them apart, and won’t be happy until she and David are divorced. She feels she needs to step in and do something drastic. Rebecca has a family herself, so Vic is hoping speaking to her one-to-one will convince her to stop talking about them.’

Former glamour model Rebecca, 47 – who is now a yoga and meditation teacher living in Norway with her doctor husband Sven Christjar Skaiaa and their two sons, Magnus and Liam – started working as David’s PA in summer 2003 after his transfer from Manchester United to Real Madrid. Her role was terminated a few months later, and in April 2004, Rebecca gave a bombshell interview to News Of The World in which she alleged an affair with David. At the time, he and Victoria had been married for almost five years and shared Brooklyn, now 26, and Romeo, now 22. They went on to have Cruz, 20, and Harper, 13.

In the 60 Minutes Australia interview, Rebecca claimed the affair started after David invited her back to a hotel where he was staying after a night out. Victoria was out of town at the time and Rebecca says she ‘finally gave in’. She added, ‘I fell hook, line and sinker for every single cliché line he fed me. And then two weeks later, we were at [Cristiano] Ronaldo’s birthday party and he’s off with this beautiful model. The realisation started to hit that I’d been massively played.’

Our source says, understandably, all of this is very hard for VB to hear. ‘Every time Rebecca speaks, it’s like a dagger through Vic’s heart,’ we’re told. ‘She felt physically sick hearing the new claims Rebecca made. She tries not to let it affect her and David, but it’s difficult not to feel anger towards him. No matter how much of a good place they’re in now, Rebecca seems to pop up when they least expect it with more bombshells, throwing their marriage into chaos.’

Although Rebecca wasn’t named directly in David’s acclaimed four-part Netflix series Beckham, he and Victoria did allude to the fact that they were going through a tumultuous time in their marriage, leading Rebecca to slam David’s ‘poor me’ mentality in response.

In the series, Victoria referred to that time as the ‘most unhappy I’ve ever been in my entire life’ adding, ‘It felt like the world was against us.’ But perhaps the most shocking revelation was her admission, ‘We were against each other if I’m being completely honest.’

As heat has previously reported VB is planning to be a ‘lot more open’ about the scandal than David when it comes to her own Netflix documentary, which is said to be arriving on the streamer this year. ‘Producers are thrilled with how it’s going,’ an insider told us earlier this year. And our source now reveals that Victoria knows that this won’t be the last time she’ll hear from Rebecca, as she’s certain she’ll have something to say when the documentary comes out, which is why she’s keen on a face-to-face showdown beforehand.

However, we’re told, David is not so keen on the idea.

‘He’s begging Vic not to do it – he thinks it’s a huge mistake. But she’s insisted it’s the only option left that will make Rebecca go away and end this nightmare.’
