Being a Big Brother contestant might look all fun and games at first glance, but Big Brother 2024 winner Ali Bromley has lifted the lid on what it’s really like in the house and, frankly, it sounds like chaos.

It’s no secret that there was a huge divide between this year’s housemates, with the likes of Khaled Khaled, Hanah Haji, Segun Shodipo and Marcello Spooks – aka The Core – on one side and Ali, Lily Benson and their pals Nathan King and Dean Quinton on the other.

Viewers watched dramatic rows between Ali, Khaled and Marcello play out on screen but it turns out there’s even more that we didn’t see as the reigning BB champ has admitted she was having ‘daily meltdowns’ in the Diary Room.

‘I was stressed out. I was having daily meltdowns in the Diary Room, just crying,’ she admitted on the Not My Bagg podcast.

‘I felt like that almost every day, at some point. I had to, kind of, give myself regular pep talks, just to be like, “No, you have to be grateful to be here, you have to be appreciative. So many people applied to get on this show.”’

Ali added, ‘I mean, it was lots of fun in there but it’s very stressful because you can’t escape the tricky group dynamics.’

Things got so hectic for Ali that she was even ready to quit the house at one point, but thankfully she didn’t otherwise she wouldn’t have taken home that sweet, sweet prize money.

Speaking about wanting to leave, Ali continued, ‘Big Brother called me into the Diary Room. Obviously, they can see and hear everything, they knew I was stomping around the bedroom trying to pack and I think I was talking to Lily like, “Don’t tell the others, but I’m going,” trying to be discreet from the rest of the house. But then obviously Big Brother intervened.

‘I received a lot of criticism for saying I was going, but I‘d made up my mind that I was going and had it been a case of you open the door and you leave, I would have left. Just because it felt like the disagreements I was having; I couldn’t resolve them.

‘Obviously they didn’t include all of that context, but some of those conversations went on for an hour or whatever. Sometimes it shows me, kind of, cutting conversations down, but that’s because it had gone on for so long at there was no resolution.’
