It’s fair to say that Big Brother runner-up Marcello Spooks was a bit of a divisive character on the show. Some of his questionable comments rubbed both viewers and housemates up the wrong way, with winner Ali Bromley being quick to call him out.

Marcello and Ali often butted heads in the Big Brother 2024 house and even clashed once again on the penultimate night, just hours before the final.

But, now they’ve returned to the outside world, it seems that Marcello is keen to put the past behind them as he’s revealed he’s taking Ali on a ‘date’.

Not a romantic date, of course, as Ali is loved up with girlfriend Cherelle – and even planning a wedding (sort of) – but Marcello has plans to take Ali on a ‘dinner date’ for a good old catch-up.

‘In the house, me and Ali scheduled in a dinner date. There’s a place I want to take her called Tofu Vegan, my favourite vegan Chinese restaurant. I want to go there with her,’ Marcello exclusively told heatworld after the final.

Speaking about his turbulent relationship with Ali, he added, ‘I told her in there, “I know you’re a nice person. Dynamics in the house can be so pressurised that it just brings out another side in you.” I get that and I have no ill intent for her, it’s just love and I understand that house is not an easy place.’

‘I went in there and I’m a strong person, I did not know it was going to be so tough. It’s very tough in there and I understand that it affects everyone in different ways. Nothing bad for Ali, I’m happy for her and I’m going to see her on the outside.’

For her part, it seems that Ali has no bad blood for Marcello either. Even though they didn’t always get along, Ali has said ‘some of [her] best moments in the house’ were with Marcello and his pals Segun Shodipo and Khaled Khaled, or 'The Core' as they named themselves.

‘Who else would I have done the wallflower dance with if not Marcello? That was one of my favourite days and one of my favourite memories from the house,’ she told us earlier this week.

‘Yes, there was division at times, but that certainly wasn't the only feeling in the house.'
