The new series of Big Brother is already under way, with the first batch of housemates facing eviction after leaving their fellow contestants and viewers divided.

However, we’re absolutely liking contestant Martha Church, who’s winning us over with her fun vibes, bubbly personality and her cool pyjamas. Her supportive and understanding stance towards Ali when she revealed her diagnosis with ADHD proves that she’s a good egg.

‘I’m going to go in and just be me and hope that’s OK,’ Martha said. ‘I don’t take things too seriously. Life is serious enough. I think it’s important to enjoy the good moments and funny moments in life and take it all with a pinch of salt.’

Despite her outgoing personality on screen, she said that she’s the opposite in real life.

‘I’m actually quite an introvert. For somebody that’s quite loud and quite in your face I love nothing more than getting in, getting in my pyjamas and reading a book or going to bed at 8pm – that’s my dream,’ she said.

One viewer said, ‘I love this woman so much. A genuine human and good TV already.’

Another added, ‘Ahh she’s a babe bless her love her!! My winner so far.’

Why did Martha apply to go on Big Brother?

Being on Big Brother has been a dream come true for Martha.

‘I remember watching it with my mum one year when I was about eight years old,’ she said. ‘I was fascinated by the idea. We used to watch it all the time and I remember thinking, “I could do that”. I’ve always been a little in your face and a bit dramatic.’

She has also always wanted to sit in the famous Big Brother chair.

‘Sitting on the Diary Room chair, that is a bucket list ticked off,’ she said. ‘Also experiencing that isolation. I’m going to enjoy not having my phone. I just love not having that responsibility.’

Martha added, ‘I think feeling the benefits of life without a screen is just unheard of. It can be so beneficial to your mental health. And hopefully meeting different people – people I wouldn’t normally come across.’
