It was the Big Brother love story that kept us all entertained for six weeks and it appears that the romance between Nathan King and Baked Potato (aka Rosie Williams) is still going strong in the outside world – despite her dad admitted that he wasn’t looking forward to meeting Scottish pork salesman.
During an appearance on companion show Late & Live, Baked Tattie’s dad revealed he wasn’t exactly over the moon about linking up with his daughter’s boyfriend when he left the house, but Nathan has revealed that they have officially come face-to-face and it actually went well.
In fact, things are going so swimmingly between the Big Brother 2024 couple that they’re jetting off on holiday this week.
Speaking exclusively to heatworld, Nathan said, ‘I came down on the train yesterday. I’m here now, this is where I am, I’m down near Plymouth and it’s been lovely. We’re going away for a four nights tomorrow, we’re going to fly out.’
When asked his first meeting with Rosie’s family went, he continued, ‘Honestly, that went great. They were so kind and both her mum and dad were so kind to me. I think they said that if I make Rosie happy, which I must do, then they’re happy as well. I did see the clip and we did laugh about that. She makes me really happy and I seem to make her really happy, who wouldn’t want that? It’s all good.’
Aww, we love a happily ever after.
During their time in the house, some viewers questioned the authenticity of Nathan’s feelings for Rosie, but he’s insisted he’s not faking it.
He said, ‘When it came out and it was mentioned about a showmance, I just thought, “Well, that’s mad.’ I don’t know how that’s been looked at like that, you don’t just think about that. I’m not great at talking about my feelings, especially when I’m on the bloody telly, but things have obviously been misconstrued that I don’t feel anything. Clearly we both do and we’re enjoying spending time together, it’s been great. I’m really happy, as is she.
‘It’s really given me a different perspective of reality TV, because I’d have said like, “How can you love someone after three weeks of knowing them?” But you’re with them all the time. If you’re dating someone on the outside, you’d see them maybe a couple of hours on a Saturday night and a couple of hours during the week, but we spent 24/7 together for five weeks. I meant everything I said about her, as did she and we’re really happy. She makes me laugh more than anyone ever has done and I do love her, a million and ten per cent.”
