We've been interviewing Big Brother housemates for literally decades now, and while we know almost everything about the behind-the-scenes of the OG reality series at this point, we do have a few lingering questions, and many of those questions relate to the topic of time.

Don't worry, we're not about to get all philosophical in a heatworld article. It's Big Brother. It's not that deep. Nevertheless, we're still curious.

We all know that before housemates are allowed into the Big Brother house, they are stripped of their phones and their socials are set to private before they are chucked into a house covered in cameras and mics with no clocks, no internet, no streaming services, no NOTHING but human interaction and a tepid jacuzzi. Their only link to the outside world is Big Brother himself, and he rarely chooses to divulge anything to our clueless housemates because he has gone mad with power after all these years.

That all applies to the Big Brother 2024 cast.

As such, we've always been curious as to whether housemates are aware of what time they are being made to wake up and go to bed each day in the Big Brother house.

Luckily for us, recently-evicted housemate Martha Church - of 'slay' fame - was feeling chatty last week and was happy to divulge some major house secrets exclusively with heatworld. Now that's a real slay.

While discussing awareness of time in the Big Brother house, Martha spilled a secret about this year's house...

It turns out that producers left the time on all the cookers in the kitchen, so this year's cohort are fully aware of the time at all times.

And to that we say, Big Brother, we feel like you're running out of punishments for these persistent rule breaks. How about stripping the time from these reality reprobates next time they disrespect your rules? Saying that, Lily Benson would never go to bed, would she? Even we don't wish that on this year's cast.

Martha revealed, ‘We were really fortunate – exclusive – [producers] left the time on the cookers, so we always knew the time. The only thing we did know was the time.'

Martha then went on to outline how the day-to-day looks inside this year's house, and in our mid-30s we COULD NEVER.

She told us, 'You go to bed really late, like, 2am, 3am, 4am, and then depending on what time you’ve gone to bed, they try and give you the seven hours, but obviously you don’t go to sleep then. You’re in the bedroom, the lights might go off, but you don’t go to sleep. You get up about 10am – that’s the average most days that you would be up.’

4am every night? No, thanks, you can keep your £100,000.

During our exclusive chat with Martha, the Queen of Slay also revealed her biggest regret (and we completely forgot about it tbh), what she REALLY thinks of Nathan King after watching episodes back and what ‘people aren’t seeing’ on this year’s Big Brother.

Both Ben and Beary are awaiting an invite to join The Real Housewives of Cheshire for series 18. The budget's not there, but the drama is 💅.
