Everyone was talking about the latest series of Love Island when it was on our screens and that includes the show’s host, Maya Jama.

Although she usually stays out of the villa drama, Maya couldn’t help but make her thoughts known (and tbh, they were thoughts shared by most of the viewers) when she questioned why Helena Ford laughed off Harry Cooksley’s bad behaviour and told Ben Holbrough his comments about Toni Laiteswere ‘unnecessary’.

However, Maya’s remarks did cause some viewers to claim she was being biased – which she later clapped back at. Now, one series 12 Islander has accused her of being ‘cold’ towards him.

Blu Chegini – the OG Islander who was originally dumped on day 4 before returning to the villa alongside Megan Forte Clarke on day 44 – caused a bit of controversy with some of his actions in the villa, particularly at the start of the show when he was coupled up with Alima Gagigo.

When asked what he thought of Alima, he replied, ‘All the girls are beautiful,’ and their potential connection never really got off the ground. Blu was called out for not giving Alima a chance and in a new interview, he suggested that this could be the reason Maya was ‘cold’ towards him.

‘Maya Jama was cold towards me because I was opinionated, or maybe the whole Alima controversy has turned her off me,’ he said, speaking to Simon Gross on Get Gossy With Grossy. ‘I got backlash for saying Alima wasn’t my type, I wasn’t her type either. She didn’t get backlash.’

Blu previously defended himself in an exclusive interview with heat after viewers came at him for not giving Alima a chance. Speaking to us after being dumped for the first time, he said, ‘I obviously go in there and am flabbergasted by Maya and then I'm also flabbergasted by all these girls. [I found out] I was coupled up with Alima and said something along the lines of, "But all the girls are beautiful," and that was just, like, word diarrhoea – me trying to compliment everyone.'

He continued, 'But there are also conversations me and Alima had after that and we were fine, we were good. After we spoke even more, we got to know each other more and got to know each other's backgrounds - things you don't really see - and, yeah, we were friends.

'There was nothing wrong with that. And then we had even more conversations after that that weren't aired. It just got to a point where she didn't find me attractive and I didn't find her, not attractive, it's just more platonic. She was speaking to me in Portuguese and I was speaking to her in Spanish, and you didn't get to see that.'
