We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: we’re certainly not envious of those Love Island producers, who have the near impossible task of cramming 24 hours of villa action into a 45-minute (excluding ads) episode – and we imagine it’s been especially impossible during series 12 when there’s been SO. MUCH. DRAMA.

Some of the moments that have been left on the cutting room floor sound just as juicy as the drama that makes it into the episode, so it’s a huge shame that we don’t get to see it. Luckily, however, dumped Islanders and, this week, the Islanders’ friends and family that visited the villa have been spilling the tea about what viewers didn’t get to see.

The latest person to speak out is Dejon Noel-Williams’ sister Gene, who found herself and her mum subject to criticism after they caught up with him earlier this week.

Some viewers claimed that Dejon’s mum and sister were ‘enabling’ his bad behaviour after not pulling him up on his previous flirtations, however Gene has insisted that they ‘grilled’ Dejon in unaired scenes.

‘Me and mum, literally straight away, went in on him. I grilled him for five minutes straight and they didn't show any of it. Not even a single second. I just think it's crazy what they actually choose to put in the show,’ she said in a TikTok video.

‘I told him about himself, “the way you handle situations sometimes you should handle in a better way”... I told him there's a lot of things you have to change when you come out of the villa.’

Insisting she’s ‘not an enabler’, Gene continued, ‘So many things in that conversation were spoken about and they showed 10 seconds of the conversation. We grilled him so much.’

During their conversation with Dejon, his mum and sister applauded him for dismissing Yasmin Pettet when she tried to pull him for a chat after the kissing challenge. They also told Meg Moore, 'These girls are not your friends,' and urged the Islanders to 'be nice' to each other.
