Self-care will forever be our favourite hobby but we appreciate that recharging and putting yourself first looks different for everyone. Each week, we'll ask the celeb lot to share their ideal self-care Sunday routines, the hard-working beauty products they recommend to their friends and which TV show they're currently binging…

This week it's all about Liberty Poole, the Love Island contestant who champions self-love, female friendships and not settling when it comes to love... even if it's a few days before the show's finale.

As well as feeling good, the Brummie lass inspires us to look good, too. From making a strong case for bodycon dressesto rocking a statement red lip (Lib uses either MAC Ruby Woo or Retro Red, FYI) it's no wonder how she's secured many major brand deals since first leaving the villa in 2021.

Liberty chats exclusively to heat about her self-care favourites, beauty favourites and very importantly, her go-to Nandos order in full, because, er, journalism!!

On self-care

What does self-care mean for Liberty and what are her non-negotiables during a rare day off?

"I’ve removed hair extensions recently because this is the year of healthy hair regrowth, am I right? So, I’ve actually removed my hair extensions. I’m turning 25 this year and I’m trying to grow my natural hair back. I’m having shorter nails to grow my natural nails as well.

"So, yeah I’m excited to do that and I’m excited to do that and I’ve been putting argan oil hair masks in to help with hair growth and they have been helping keep my hair hydrated.

"On a day off, I love to organise the whole house. I've just had a massive clear out, I used to be the worst person ever for chucking out clothes and wasting clothes so I’ve opened my own vinted and I’m trying to be more sustainable and eco-friendly by reselling clothes that I don’t want. I’m busy with that now too because I literally only released it the other day and all the items are selling really quickly."

On skincare

"I use Weleda Skin Food every day. Sometimes I wake up with dry skin, so I just slap on Skin Food and it instantly feels like my face is hydrated. Then for cleanser and to take my make-up off, I always use a Cerave cleanser and then I love myself a bit of Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair underneath my eyes too."

On budget beauty buys

"I’ve recently tried the new NYX Professional Makeup Fat Oil Lip Drip and it's unreal. I’ve just been using that on my lips because it feels like a gloss but it keeps your lips hydrated at the same time."

On fitness routines

"I actually love going to the gym. I do circuit training which is actually hardcore. The reason why I do circuit training and why I go to the gym is because I just feel like it keeps me motivated.

"With circuit training, I’m not one of those girls that can be in the gym lifting weights and doing reps, because I get really bored. With circuits you can do 45 seconds on this exercise and then the next thing 45 seconds on this exercise and then the next thing, so I’ve quite enjoyed doing that."

On make-up for Love Island

"I am a massive, massive Fenty fan. I love the Fenty Gloss Bomb and a lot of people were asking about my highlighter and I love the Fenty Highlighter in the shade 'Wattabrat', it's so good.

"I love the Dior Backstage Rosy Glow Blush but Trigwell do an amazing dupe and I absolutely love Trigwell's Setting Powder.

Then for brows, I’ve actually got my brows combo microbladed, so I don’t really need to do much to them. If I do use anything then it will just be a Soap & Glory or Benefit brow pen. But I'm really trying to embrace my natural beauty, especially with summer coming up and it being hot.

"I tried a product the other day, it’s only £9.99 and they're called the Revolution Bronzing Drops, which is a good dupe for Drunk Elephant."

"I'm really embracing the bronzy, glowy, natural skin trend at the moment. I love embracing the skin that we were born in, rather than just caking it on and letting our skin breathe a bit more."

On getting a good pic for Instagram

Liberty's Instagram content is looking hot fire flames, so what's her secret to a good pic? Tell us all your secrets, immediately.

"It’s actually crazy that you’re asking me this question because when I first came out of Love Island I did not have a clue what to do with social media. I feel like I’ve come a long way in the last few years, to be honest. I think it’s just getting good lighting, I’ve just been to Coachella and the lighting in LA is different from the lighting in the UK, very sunny.

"Obviously, we don’t have much lighting in the UK, so I always have myself a little clip-on ring light. I got it on Amazon and it instantly illuminates your face. My dressing room is kitted out with ring lights because lighting is key.  I’ve been trying to get my hands on the Cannon Powershot G7 X camera to take good photos but it’s just sold out everywhere!"

On wise advice

What words of wisdom does Lib live by? Can she give us some big sister advice?

"I’m a big fan of Marilyn Monroe, I literally have Marilyn Monroe all  over my flat and I live by the words ‘You either give up or give it all you’ve got.’

"I fully believe that if you have a dream, a goal, or something in sight, just strive to achieve it and don’t give up on those dreams. That’s definitely what I’m doing this year, I’ve got some exciting projects that I’m focusing on and it’s putting my dreams in my head into reality."

Quickfire round:

Show you’re currently binging? I don't have time to watch TV! My life right now is either doing interviews, going to the gym, meeting accountants to get my life sorted, sorting out my clothes for Vinted or dating!

Go-to cuppa? I am addicted to iced coffee. I usually have an iced brown sugar oat shaken espresso, that is my go-to and I am addicted to them. I have them every day.

Go-to loungewear brand? Juicy Couture, I’m a big Juicy Couture fan.

Everyday perfume? I love Coco Mademoiselle, but then I use Red Temptation from Zara as my everyday spritz, it smells unreal.

Go-to takeaway order? It’s got to be a Nando’s. I used to work at Nando’s for five years and I used to get free meals every week at Nando’s because I worked there. I love a chicken wrap Peri-tamer and then add extra halloumi and cheese. I am a cheesy girl even though I have a dairy intolerance. I have that and the new loaded chips are so nice.

Favourite candle? I prefer how candles look in my flat rather than what they smell because I’m actually scared of lighting them in case they burn my flat down and I’m on the top floor so that wouldn't be good. At the moment, I've got Jo Malone Lime Basil & Mandarin which smells so good.
