Love Island star victim of ‘awful’ robbery weeks after Molly-Mae’s burglary

Love Island star Lucinda Strafford has revealed she was targeted by thieves in an “awful” robbery just weeks after burglars stole a reported £800k worth of belongings from the home of 2019 Islanders Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury.

Lucinda was walking through central London on her way to see Frozen the Musical when the scary incident occurred. After arriving at the theatre, she told her followers how her phone had been snatched out of her hand by a balaclava-clad thief who sped away on a motorbike.

Alongside a photo of the stage posted on her Instagram story, she wrote, “Not everyday you walk to see Frozen the Musical and your phone gets snatched out of your hand by someone wearing a balaclava on a motorbike.

“So awful there’s people out there like that. Make sure to hold your phones extra tight…”

The online fashion boutique owner later shared an update as she revealed she hadn’t been able to get her phone back, although she admitted that her spirits had been raised by the on-stage production.

Lucinda posted a picture of a cuddly toy of Olaf, the snowman from Frozen, she had been given with the caption, “In other news this is the cutest thing ever (defo cheered me up anyway) and there’s worst things going on in the world.”

This comes after Molly-Mae and Tommy were the victims of a break-in at their £1m Manchester apartment. According to reports, burglars entered the property while they were out and made off with £800k of clothes and jewellery.

Following the incident, Molly and Tommy moved out of their home immediately and have since relocated to another property. Molly opened up about the “horrendous” ordeal in an emotional YouTube video and told fans it was “without a doubt the worst thing that’s ever happened to me”.

She said, “It was just awful, horrendous, terrible. So we have been dealing with a lot. Our apartment was robbed, ransacked, emptied. You name it. I never thought if I was to be robbed, that I would feel guilty for being robbed.

“But I think seeing a lot of things on social media and seeing a lot of people’s opinions about why we were robbed, I started to feel like, 'God was this my fault? Do I share too much? Did I do the wrong thing?'”

Molly continued, “It’s really, really hard to find that balance between sharing so that you guys want to keep up with my life and see what I’m doing, but also keeping my life private so that I stay safe and I think I potentially maybe lost that balance. It’s nobody’s fault, it’s just a truly, truly awful thing to have happened.”

In the wake of the burglary, fans inundated Molly with messages of support including one who wrote, “I'm extremely proud of you, from embracing your beauty to all you've done as a businesswoman. You are so elegant in your management of everything. It takes a lot of strength to be so compassionate and gentle in this world. I'm very sorry this happened to you, but I know you'll recover, because kindness always wins”.

Another added, “I couldn’t stop thinking about how you guys are, please do whatever you need to do to feel safe and don’t feel pressured to post more than what’s comfortable for you! Sending you both so much love x.”
