One thing people seem to often wonder about the stars of Love Island is just how much they are paid for taking part in the show.

Those who return to the villa for All Stars are often paid more than the regular contestants because, in the world of Love Island, they are, well, stars...

But when you first take part in the dating show you are giving a set amount and it's roughly around minimum wage – which still isn't bad considering you're essentially on a free summer holiday.

Jay Younger, who was a bombshell on Love Island 2022 revealed as much during a podcast a couple of years back.

'Once they [producers] send through the contract, I think they pay you like £375 a week. It’s very low; it’s like minimum wage,' he confessed.

But how about Maya Jama? The presenter has been hosting the romance reality TV show since 2022, after Laura Whitmore stepped down and people ADORE her.

Well, it has recently been reported that Maya is set to be handed an eye-watering figure to keep presenting Love Island.

'It is still early days but bosses are preparing an extremely good package for Maya that she would find hard to turn down,' a source told The Sun.

The news outlet claimed that Maya could potentially earn '£800,000' for the core series and the same amount for All Stars.

'They’re acutely aware that she’s being offered lucrative work with other companies such as Netflix,' they added, 'she’s hugely in demand.'

The Bristol-born babe is a huge hit with fans and Maya has been vocal about how much she adores being part of Love Island.

'We are one of the few shows to do our finals live and I’m so grateful for the trust because it gives so much room for silliness and iconic moments,' she recently declared on social media, 'you truly never know what will happen and I had so much fun.'

That doesn't sound like someone who is quitting the show anytime soon.
