Do you want to know what we really love about Love Island host Maya Jama? Actually, no, that list is far too long and we're on a word count, so we'll just say EVERYTHING.
But we particularly love how she has made the role of Love Island host her own, and by that we mean not staying neutral; we want to clap backs, we want opinions and we want authenticity, and this year especially Maya has given that to Love Island fans in spades.
Who could forget when she absolutely annihilated Love Island 2025's Ben Holbrough after yet another one of his ignorant and condescending put-downs to the girls, when she uttered, 'Yeah, I didn't really mean like that, Ben. That was unnecessary.'

We can still hear Toni Laites exclaiming, 'Literally!' It's giving TV moment of the year.
Maya has also been fairly vocal about her thoughts on series 12 on social media, and this week, she revealed the villa moment that left her in 'tears' and, honestly, who did this not leave in tears? Cach Mirjah Mercer's iconic brother D'Shae and sister Ayjah, probably...
Maya recently took to X to admit that she shed a tear when Toni's mum, Leslie, pulled Cach for a chat to thank him for giving her daughter another chance – as well as voicing the nation's overall opinions of this king.

She posted, 'Toni's mum talking to Cach has me 🥹🥹🥹.'
A follower then responded to her words, commenting, 'Ain't you meant to be an unbiased host?'
To which Maya responded in the most Maya way, '🤣 shut up. I will shed my lil tear when I feel to.'
Unstoppable queen s**t. Long may she reign.

Maya has hosted Love Island since the beginning of 2023. As well as hosting the summer edition of the dating show, Maya also hosts Love Island: All Stars and presented the first season of Love Island Games. She took over from Laura Whitmore when the Irish presenter chose to step down from the role in 2022.
When Maya found out she would be hosting Love Island, she took to social media to say, 'SO BLOODY EXCITED.' In a statement shared by ITV, she described herself as a 'massive Love Island fan' and said she was 'so excited to be hosting one of the nation’s favourite shows'.

Maya is currently hosting Love Island 2025 and will crown the winning couple during the show's finale on Monday 4 August 2025.
