They left fans heartbroken last August, when the announced their shock break-up – and then Love Island icons Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury sent everyone into a spin after sharing a passionate kiss at a New Year’s party. The pair only fuelled the fire of a reunion when they were seen going to the cinema together just days after their PDA, followed by Tommy reportedly spending the night at the house he used to share with the influencer. Although he hasn’t fully moved back into his former home, it’s clear Tommy is back in Molly-Mae’s love life – but after accusations of ‘faking’ it for her new TV show, fans have questioned why else she would be hiding their reunion.

When Molly-Mae and Tommy, both 25, abruptly ended their engagement, they had been together for five years, welcoming daughter Bambi in January 2022. While neither revealed a specific reason for the split, Molly-Mae’s statement made it clear it was sudden, writing, ‘I never imagined our story would end, especially not this way.’ Rumours swirled that Tommy had been unfaithful, a claim he has always vehemently denied. However, the boxer has reportedly been desperate to win Molly-Mae back ever since their split, calling her his ‘soulmate’ and saying in an interview, ‘I know what I have to do in order to resolve things.’

Now, reports of their New Year’s kiss has fans wondering if Molly-Mae has forgiven her ex, while a source tells heat that it doesn’t mean the pair have swept everything under the rug, and she still needs him to prove he’s changed before they can give things another go and make their reunion public. A source says, ‘She's wanted Tommy to prove himself for a while now, so she can hold her head up high and show the world he is a good guy who has worked to win her back. But she's been feeling really stressed and sad about the situation ever since their New Year's Eve kiss got out, which was honestly not something she had planned.’

And, unfortunately for the couple, their secret smooch has left fans wondering if it was a ploy for publicity, especially considering they’re reconciling just as her new fly-on-the-wall show Molly Mae: Behind It All is about to debut on Amazon Prime Video. In the trailer for the upcoming show – the first three episodes of which are released on 17 January – Molly-Mae talks candidly about how devastating the break-up was. She narrates, ‘We were utterly obsessed with one another. All I ever wanted was to get married. Suddenly, overnight, every part of my life changed. The last couple of months have been the worst of my life. I am angry at him, and I am very hurt. Sometimes it really hits that I’m in this alone now.’

Although there is nothing in the trailer to hint the pair will get back together, an insider has revealed their relationship will ‘come full circle’ on the show, which concludes with another three episodes airing in the spring. To add to the rumours that this is all a publicity stunt, just a week before their leaked kiss, Molly-Mae released a festive vlog where she said she had just returned home from dropping Bambi off at Tommy’s house on Christmas Day. While this suggests the couple are living separate lives, it no longer rings true for some fans.

Our insider tells us that the mum of one doesn’t appreciate the publicity stunt rumours surrounding her relationship, and hopes that fans will see she would never deliberately try to fool them. ‘Molly-Mae prides herself on being true to herself and being someone people can relate to – she thinks it's really sick to manipulate your romantic life for ratings and she really hopes that is not how she comes across,’ we’re told. ‘She’s really upset there have been whispers that her reunion with Tommy has all been conveniently timed to tee up with her reality show on Prime. She does still love Tommy and she wants it to work out but they have a way to go before she can really trust him again.

‘She knows it's got people even more interested in the show, but that was not her intention. It's scary, because she would hate for it to all blow up in her face and have the public turn on her or call her out as a phoney. That's not who she is and she's hoping that once the public sees the show, they can see that she genuinely wants a happy ending with Tommy.’
