We have to say, the Love Island bosses really pulled it out of the bag this year.

Series 12 was the first time we've happily watched the final few weeks and been entertained. Usually it's just the boring baby challenge and the Islanders going exclusively but this year, we had drama up until the end - that final dumping was iconic thanks to Andrada Pop.

It was also the first time we've loved all the couples in the final and when Toni Laites and Cach Mirjah Mercer were crowned the winners we were buzzing.

They had a journey, witty one liners and they were definitely the coolest couple in the villa but one thing that has surprised us is Toni's nickname for Cach.

Appearing on the Old & Bald podcast, hosts Harry Pinero and Darkest Man asked Cach about any barriers he has faced as a UK lad dating a USA lass and his answer was hilarious.

'I thought there would be a bit of a barrier because you know people from London are quite sarcastic in terms of their banter and stuff, but every time I'm sarcastic, she gets it,' he admitted.

'I don't know how she she gets it, but she gets it. Obviously spending time in there with each other, I feel like she's adapted more to how I banter with her so, there's no barrier. I get her jokes, she gets mine.

'Obviously, there's some words that she says that I didn't get at the start. Like when she started messaging me 'stink'.

'I said, "Who stinks?", she said "Oh, hey Stink." I'm like, "Stink? What are you trying to banter with me and call me out from afar?" because you're not even in my presence right now, you're messaging me on WhatsApp.'

LOL.

The Casa Amor bombshell turned winner added, 'It's them kind of little words but I'm getting used to it now.

'I know it's a word of endearment or something like that, like "Hey stink" or "Hey pookie."'

Cuuuute.
