One couple who have been at the centre of the drama on the latest Aussie series of Married At First Sight is Jacqui Burfoot and Ryan Donnelly, whose relationship didn’t exactly get off to the smoothest start when she broke down in tears on their wedding day as he wasn’t her usual type and then he dropped her on the dancefloor. Awkward but HILARIOUS scenes.

That was just the tip of the iceberg too with even more chaos ensuing when Jacqui’s secret texts to groom Jeff Gobbels were exposed and Ryan made comments about their sex life that were so explicit they were cut from the show.

It wasn’t much of a surprise then when Jacqui and Ryan chose not to stay together at the final vows and now he’s seemingly confirmed he’s dating someone new following their split.

Ryan has been spotted looking cosy with a new woman, a DJ called Jennie, at a number of events including Daily Mail Australia’s MAFS reunion after party and Believe Advertising’s Most Influential People Party.

Jennie has been pictured kissing Ryan’s neck and sitting on his lap, however the pair aren’t allowed to officially confirm they’re dating until after the show finishes airing in the UK.

It doesn’t take a genius to work out what’s going on though and when recently asked about her relationship with Ryan, Jennie told So Dramatic!, ‘Now you know I can’t give anyone the answer to that… Everyone will just have to wait and see.’

Although MAFS Australia 2025 has finished filming, the tensions between Jacqui and Ryan are still rumbling on. In the wake of the experiment, Jacqui was granted an interim restraining order in the state of Tasmania which prevented her on-screen husband from talking about her on social media.

Ryan responded by applying for an apprehended domestic violence order (AVO) against his on-screen wife which, according to the Local Court of New South Wales, ‘protects people by ordering a person known as the “defendant” not to assault, molest, harass, intimidate or stalk the protected person for a specific period of time.’

The order he has applied for would also stop Burfoot from being able to post about him online for two years.
