As the celebrities in the music industry gathered for the prestigious American Music Awards (AMAs), last night (9th October), we saw fantastic performances from the very flexible Cardi B and the amazing trust fall from Dua Lipa. However, it was on the red carpet that Fifth Harmony member Normani teased some very exciting news.
Speaking to Billboard, Normani teased some new music, which included a collaboration with superstar DJ Calvin Harris and Sam Smith. Talking about Sam Smith, Normani told Billboard, "We definitely laid some vocals down, I will say that." She then went on to say that her song with Calvin would be released "in the next few days".
Whilst an exact date, or any further details of the release have not been confirmed, if the new track does drop, then that will mean that Calvin will see competition from his own collaboration with Sam Smith, 'Promises', which is currently at Number 2 in the charts, having previously reached the top spot.
NOW WATCH: Calvin Harris' biggest collaborations:
During the interview with Billboard, the Fifth Harmony member also revealed details of her solo album saying, “I feel like it’s the first time that people are getting a sense of who I am…I feel like there’s so much that I didn’t even know was necessarily even there, things that I want to talk about, and things that I’m able to do and I’m able to wear so many different hats."
She went on to say, "Now I’ve been able to co-produce. Which is something that I didn’t know that I could even do before, co-write, so it’s just really me from the ground up and it’s the real me for the first time."
Of course, Normani isn't the only Fifth Harmony member to go solo. Back in 2016 Camila Cabello shocked fans when she decided to leave the group, made famous on The X Factor in the US. Since going solo, Camila has had a huge amount of success, with her Number 1, self-titled album 'Camila', and her hits, including 'Havana', which won a number of awards at this year's AMAs.
